There will be a breif overview of how yoga meshes with and supports post concussion treatment goals; such as nervous system safety, grounding, breathwork, postural and body awareness, neck mobility, oculmotor, vestibular and mantras for mindset. The meat of this workshop will of course be... a post concussion yoga class!

Shelley is a registered Occupational Therapist from Tsawwassen BC, Canada. Her background is in all things neuro, from neurodevelopment to brain injury with specialty training in TBI/Concussion and sensory and reflex integration. Shelley is also a practicing certified yoga instructor with a focus on nervous system management and injury recovery.
Shelley is a lifetime member of Concussion Nerds program which dives deep into concussion assessment and treatment and keeps concussion clinicians up to date on best practices.
Shelley has in the past had her own OT clinic, but now works online and in home, equestrian/farm, yoga, sports and community settings. She loves the versatility of seeing clients in real life, in activities they love.
Shelley has spoken on several recent podcasts and interviews discussing her own personal history of concussion and where she saw gaps in concussion care. In fact her experience with persistent symptoms is what led her to her current OT role, concussion coaching and the development of her signature post concussion recovery program THREE; a three month supported home program full of yoga, education and OT tools.
Shelley’s love of nature and physical activity shows in her social media posts; she is a lover of the ocean, road cycling, yoga, running, hiking, and animals. Shelley spends a lot of time outdoors; saying it is there that she feels most regulated and spiritual.
Shelley is the kind of person who embraces change and believes in possibilities. She thrives with humor, optimism and she is a role model of resilience. She is excited to share her post concussion knowledge, expertise and her beautiful movement practice that meshes rehab and yoga.
