God has positioned us for greatness through Jesus Christ. The story of Joseph in the book of Genesis is full of principles that can help every believer reap the benefits of the position that God has promised to us. Last Sunday, we learned of two shortcomings in the life of Joseph. This week will begin exploring what Joseph did right on his journey to greatness. Are you ready to be great?

When we repent and become part of God’s family, we are immediately Positioned For Greatness. That’s right, greatness! Why? Because God wants the best for His children. However, even though God has positioned us, there are some things we have to be careful of so that we can reap the benefits of the position. This Sunday, we will begin looking at the life of Joseph to see what we can learn from his journey to greatness.

Is there some way that could lessen and overcome your emotional hurts? Is there some way that could cause you to be more satisfied, more peaceful, and happier than you have ever been? A way that could change you, the church, the nation, and even the world? Jesus gives us the positive answer to these questions. To grasp the message of Jesus and put it into practice will transform your life, whether you are a new Christian or a long time follower of Jesus Christ.

The arrival of Jesus signaled the end of the Temple Model and the beginning of something brand new—an approach to faith characterized by loving others. The Temple Model is you-focused, but Jesus’ new covenant calls for a focus on others. So what is required if we want to follow Jesus’ example and radically love the people around us? Jesus stepped into a world where religion was characterized by the “temple model,” and He initiated something entirely new. This new movement that He initiated is rooted in love and makes us free in Him.Unfortunately, many of the old ways of the “temple model” crept back into to the church during the fourth century—continuing even today—and it has robbed too many believers of their freedom in Christ. Because of this, the Church became resistible, undesirable, and has turned many off.But all is not lost!Through love, the Church can become irresistible again.

Think of your favorite restaurant, band, or clothing line. They have created an image and brand that probably carries a positive reputation and level of trust for many others just as yourself.How does the world view the church? Unfortunately, we’ve created a brand for the church that Jesus never intended, which has caused many to resist its true calling and purpose. However, we have the opportunity to give everyone a new perspective because the arrival of Jesus signaled the end of the old ways of doing things into something brand new.Join us as we begin a new sermon series that will challenge the way you think of church, and in turn will change the way those around you perceive The Irresistible Church.

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the word submission? Is it positive or negative? In our culture, submission is a word that often incites controversy. For many, the first things that come to mind are words such as “inferior,” “doormat,” or “controlled.” Even though the word submit tends to be a disliked word, we need to embrace it. However, we shouldn’t embrace submission through the lens of the culture we live in. Instead we should look at submission through the lens of the Word of God and follow its directions.

In our continuing examination of Owning Your Relationships, this Sunday we will discuss the marriage relationship and the responsibilities before and after. Marriage was and is the creative work of God. It is unique in that it conveys the character of God to all of mankind. The love that is displayed in the marriage relationship reflects the love that God has for His church. Join us as we not only identify the responsibilities in the marriage but how to overcome the unique challenges of becoming one.
