  • A Hearing Heart

Jesus said, my sheep hear my voice. That tells me, there’s no escaping the importance of hearing God’s voice, especially in times such as these where there are so many competing voices. As children of God, the most important thing we can have is the ability to hear from God and be able to distinguish His voice from all of the counterfeit voices we're bombarded with throughout our lives.

  • What Voice Are You Listening To?

The one thing that makes us different than all other people is the ability to hear God’s voice. Hearing God’s voice sets us apart. Hearing God’s voice is radical to some believers, but it’s actually a fundamental aspect of Christianity Because “Hearing God’s Voice” makes all the difference in the quality of the life we live.

Knowing God, Following God, and Belonging to God are all connected and inseparable from hearing God.
Join with us for this week's message as we explore the various ways the bible makes it clear, God expects us to not only hear Him but to listen and obey Him.

  • A Time to Speak and a Time to Listen

God did not leave us without instructions. As His children, we’re exhorted to be led by the Spirit of God however, we cannot be led by the Spirit of God unless we’re able to hear His voice and we cannot hear his voice unless we’re listening. But if we’re talking when we should be listening, we will not hear His instructions.

Even in our daily interactions with people, listening is a good skill to develop because, if we learn to be a good listener, we can more easily understand what’s being said, and then by the Spirit of God, He will help us see beyond the words into the heart of a person.

At one time or another most of us have trouble controlling our tongue, speaking more than listening. In this teaching, we’re going to see what the word of God has to say on the subject of our mouths, how they’re connected to our hearts and how we use them. We’re going to discuss the value of knowing when to speak when to listen and how important it is to know when to speak and when to listen and how that goes hand in hand with following God’s instructions

  • Resting in God's Presence

Throughout our lives we will face many challenges, many trials and many battles, but among the toughest battles we all face, on an ongoing and daily basis, is getting out of God's way, resting in Him and allowing Him to direct our steps and fight our battles. Resting in God means allowing His presence to manifest in us and through us.

Dr Myles Munroe said,"Whenever you live without a vital, ongoing relationship with God, you have no hope of finding true happiness or of fulfilling the purpose for which you were born. You simply cannot function properly and effectively outside the environment of God’s presence."

  • Enjoying the Journey - Part I

God interceded for mankind taking on the responsibility of fixing Adam's mistake and restoring mankind back to Himself, back to His original intent of having a family with people, like himself, with whom he could love, fellowship and commune with as His very own children.
The enemy has been defeated, Jesus took the keys of death, hell and the grave and the battle against Satan has been won, so the question is, what is our purpose, why are we here and what is God trying to accomplish with us.
The simple answer is, God is preparing and developing us for life eternity in His presence. In other words, through the testing of our faith, God is working within us to help us work out our salvation, to grow us, perfect us to conform to the image and likeness of Jesus, the first-born of many brothers and sisters.
We're on a journey through the land of God's promises and in His Word, God makes it clear, He wants us to enjoy the journey, through trials, tests, ups and downs, bumpy roads and crooked paths, we're supposed to be learning how to count it all joy, trust God and enjoy the journey of this thing called life.

  • The Power of God's Grace and Mercy

It's almost impossible to discuss grace without also keeping in mind that having God's grace, is a result of being a beneficiary of His mercy.

In other words, the reality that God has forgiven our sins is His mercy by which we are justified, and found innocent, which in turn gives us access to his grace

The very act of God delivering His people from Egypt, was an act of God’s grace and with each act of grace and His continued acts of Grace in spite of their constant complaining and murmuring, were acts of God’s mercy, withholding punishment.

For each act of Grace, God gave an instruction to Moses such as holding up his staff to part the Red Sea, placing a piece of wood in bitter water to make it drinkable and striking a rock with his staff to cause water to flow from it.

As recipients of God’s Great Grace, are we thanking Him, are we grateful to Him and do we realize the depths of His Grace and Mercies, toward us?

  • A Prosperous Soul in Times of Adversity

In times like we’re living in many people are giving up, many people are losing hope. Last year at this time no one would have believed that a year from then, people would be living in fear of a virus, losing their jobs, losing their businesses, children would be kept out of school and churches would be ordered to remain closed. If someone would’ve told us any of those things, we would’ve thought they were crazy yet all all these things are more are taking place in these adverse times we’re living in.

The world has a saying that goes like this, “whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” In Christianity we’re told to count it all joy when we go through various problems, knowing that our faith is being tested.

Counting it as joy is not always an easy thing to accomplish when it seems like our life is falling apart or we’re faced with disappointment, setbacks and frustration. Nevertheless, the scripture tells us we prosper even as our soul prospers and this makes maintaining a prosperous soul one of the greatest challenges of discipleship

It’s one thing to prosper financially or materially and another thing to maintain a prosperous soul yet the bible gives us numerous examples of how we can successfully accomplish both. In this message, Pastor Art takes a deep dive into the scriptures to help believers understand how God has made it possible for His people to maintain a prosperous soul in times of adversity.

  • Prospering in Times of Adversity

Teaching on prosperity and what's come to be know prosperity preaching are two entirely different things. The obvious abuses of those who preach prosperity for their own personal gain is just that, an abuse of the Word and a manipulation of scripture. However for centuries upon centuries and decades upon decades, the Body of Christ has been abused with the Poverty Gospel and somehow, not nearly the intensity of concern and interest has gone into exposing the false gospel doctrine of poverty and lack.
This teaching focuses on what God has said in His Word about prospering, especially prospering in "Times of Adversity" showing us that despite what the world is going through, God has and always makes it possible for His people to prosper during times of adversity, the story of Joseph's rise to power being one very good example. The bible tells us, we should prosper in health and all things, even as our soul prosper 3 John 1:2 but what does it mean to have a prosperous soul?
Sit back, get your bible, your notepad and your highlighter ready. Be prepared to be blessed through this insightful teaching from pastor Art McAllister, "Prospering in Times of Adversity"
