Being still is not only a command, it is a major challenge of discipleship. The last thing most of us want to do is be still.
Being still encapsulates a lot of different meanings and connotations. Most literally it means to stop moving and to stop doing. But it doesn’t only mean to stop, it also means to start, start reflecting, pay attention, listen with spiritual ears, listen with spiritual ears to what God is trying to say and It also means to remember who God is.
It means to start thinking from God’s perspective, realizing that because he’s God, he has all the answers. When you’re busy and you heart is restless, it’s fairly impossible to hear God. Notice this is a command and this particular command— “be still”—forces us to think on two things: that we are finite, and that God is infinite
We pray this teaching blesses, edifies and encourages you as it has us. So sit back open your bibles or if you’re listening while driving or working, invite the Holy Spirit to give you insight and spiritual ears to hear as Pastor Art goes into today’s message.

The lord is constantly watching everyone, and he gives strength to those who faithfully obey him. God wants to use us for his honor, his glory and his purposes. He’s not looking for a perfect person, he’s looking for a heart that is sensitive to him, that is attentive to his voice for the purpose of being used by him to accomplish his plans and his purposes.
Why should we cultivate our hearts? To live a life that can be used by God!

Making every effort to rest and Laboring to rest seems like a contradiction, like struggling or fighting to go to sleep, it's almost impossible.
But God says labor, make every effort therefore the difference must be that His ways are not of this world. His ways are by His Spirit ( Zechariah 4:6)
Isaiah 55:9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher
than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
All you who labor and carrying burdens; you who are struggling and sometimes wonder if you will ever make it through Jesus yoke and burden was to do the Father’s will. It was His relationship with the Father.
He said, “If you’re struggling, if you’re perplexed, if you’re anxious, if you’re frustrated, if you’re not satisfied with the way your life is going, come to Me.
I can reveal the Father to you and that will be a life-changing revelation. It will give you a new sense of belonging and bring you into true rest.”

We have to understand that we've been indoctrinated into the ways of the world since our youth. Almost everything we understand about life comes from our understanding of how to navigate through the ways of the world. Consequently, when we are born again, we bring many of those ways with us, in other words we don't instantly throw off the ways of the world and in many cases, we don't even recognize or distinguish them as worldly, wrong or harmful to our Christian walk.
The gospel Jesus preached is called the gospel of the kingdom. He preached the kingdom because he wanted his disciples to understand that the kingdom way of seeing things and the kingdom way of doing things was completely different than the ways of the world, we've grown accustomed to.
Jesus would say, the kingdom of heaven is like this and the kingdom of heaven is like that. What Jesus was teaching His disciples was to see things from a kingdom perspective.
One of the greatest challenges of our Christian walk is understanding God's ways, seeing things from his perspective. Today we're going to focus on how God sees His word, how He sees wisdom and God’s idea of strength and in so doing, learn how to recognize the difference between God's ways and the ways of the world

Dr Bobby Romo has an extensive background in ministry and teaching. Quite naturally that would mean he also has a wealth of teaching from over the years on a variety of topics. It would be a great undertaking and take considerable time to cite his many accomplishments and the numerous places, venues and churches where he's taught throughout the years but as we often say of him, he is without question, a gift to the Body of Christ.
That said, we at The Connection Community Foursquare Church are blessed to have him on staff and we are very excited to be able to bring you some of Pastor Bobby's classic teachings out of his personal archives.
Get a cup of your favorite beverage, open your bible, get your pen, notebook and highlighter, ready yourself and be prepared to be blessed with "Blood in the Old Testament," the first of many teachings from what we call "The Classic Series" of Dr Bobby Romo!

Paul's statement is the statement each of us should aspire to be able to make one dayThis statement is a prelude to the lord, one day saying to us well done, good and faithful servant. We want to be able to boldly say I’m resisting steadfast in faith I’m running the race set before me by God. I am not wavering nor am I losing confidence in God's ability I’m growing strong in the faith. I’m strong in the Lord and the power of his might.
Join with us today for a powerful word as Pastor Art takes us through the scriptures, ministering on the fight, the race and the faith and what it all means in the daily challenges we face as disciples. In this teaching we find that fear is the greatest challenge we face but we also learn how God has equipped us to overcome it
