      • Human connection - The Super Power We All Have

In this episode, we talk to Pete Bombaci, who in 2016 launched The GenWell Project, a Human Connection Movement. The mission of The GenWell Project is to make the world a happier and healthier place by educating, empowering, and catalyzing people around the importance of proactive face-to-face social connection as an action we can all take for our health, happiness, longevity, and the betterment of society.

We talked about a few topics including:

        • The new Social Connection Framework from the Surgeon General
        • The benefits of a connected individual
        • The benefits of a connected society and community
        • The negative implications of social isolation, disconnection and loneliness
        • The global impact and importance of the growing loneliness epidemic - Japan and UK now have Ministers of/for Loneliness.
        • The concept of ‘going first’ really resonated with us to just take that first step, send that message or invite and start the conversation. We appreciated how GenWell allows us to ‘give each other permission’ to reach out and connect and also to receive the invitation to get out there and be social. Join us for the next GenWell event, we will definitely be there!

In this episode Quinten and JoJo interview their mutual friend Bonita Gionet and discuss how the key to her #success has always been through the #connections she has made and her #willingness

          to connect deeper with others.
Bonita shares her background in Engineering at a time when there were
not many women in the industry, and how she was involved in technology

We embellished on a few key topics including:

          disconnection
Gratitude and appreciation for the little things we have in life
Focussing on work that directly impacts people, with a heart-centred and
          empathetic way of working
The interdependence of food systems, and the relation of peeling back
the layers of people like an onion.
The basis of connection is vulnerability, shared connections, and
linkages, and how things relate to one another.
