Michelle Gruening joins the show from her home in Colorado. After working for Disney, where she met her husband, and briefly in Charlotte, Michelle had a decision to make in the face of corporate burnout. She left the corporate world and become a personal growth coach. Soon thereafter, her and her husband moved to Colorado to be closer to mountains and great hiking. In a casual conversation with a friend, Michelle jumped at the opportunity to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. She talks with Tine and Taylor about her experience on Kili, and how that has impacted her life as a coach and speaker; and recently published her brand new activity book 'Stop Doom Scrolling'. In this episode, Tine and Taylor talk with Daniel Sergent. Taylor first met Daniel as a client in his nutrition coaching program, and quickly realized the shared a similar life philosophy. Daniel joins the episode by sailboat in the Bahamas, where he has been anchored for a few weeks after sailing down from the United States.
He discusses how childhood obesity led to a passion for nutrition and fitness. He talks about how his sailing journey grew from a hobby to a lifestyle, and is also in the process of launching functional, sustainable, and stylish apparel company Sea Wolf, despite no previous experience in the manufacturing industry. Daniel's story is inspirational in that he shows what is possible when we set aside self-limiting beliefs, overcome our fears, and pursue our passions.

Tine and Taylor are joined on this episode of The Constant Quest Podcast by Michael White. Michael shares the depth of his connection to the Asheville & Western, NC community, specifically in light of the devastation brought by recent Hurricane Helene. He has felt called to volunteer with BeLoved Asheville, a local organization that has been helping support community throughout the region since 2009. They have also become a central hub for donation and distribution of goods & supplies to those who continue to be impacted by the aftermath of the storm. Tine and Taylor were able to see a glimpse of the continued impact as Michael toured them through the River Arts District and others. This conversation is one of emotion, gratitude, pain, and joy.
Michael also talks about the power of changing the narrative in our brains by intentionally pre-determining what we consume, be it in diet, exercise, media, literature, or relationships. The co-hosts had the opportunity to record this episode in person at Michael's home and see first hand this intention of Michael's through his positive affirmations placed throughout his house. He has recently turned his journals and journey into a book titled UnPerfect. Michael is a deep thinker and life long learner, and shares a number of his personal growth & self care tools, even sharing a sauna & cold plunge session with Tine and Taylor.

In the second part of this 2 part conversation with Brennen & Donnie Fetner, they further explore their experience raising their son, Micah. Micah was adopted from Ukraine and has down syndrome and ASD (autism spectrum disorder). They describe what their daily life is like, and how making this decision has impacted their lives up to this point and will continue into the future. They discuss challenges, blessings, resources, and frustrations that come with their family structure. Brennen talks through how her work in IFS (internal family systems) therapy and shadow work have helped her know, understand, and respect herself in a new way, which has also informed her ability to become a better partner and parent, especially to Micah.
