Here we are at episode 23… or 24? Yeah it’s 24. I think. Whatever. Coming off the heels of the MCAA’s MEP Innovation Conference we decided we wanted to keep the party going and brought in the puppet master of the event, Sean McGuire. We touch on a lot of topics revolving around the conference, contractors helping contractors, and how great it was to bring in SMACNA and NECA and make this a great big happy family event.

Here we are at episode 23 of the Construction DorkCast. In this episode we bring in two general contractors to try to prove we’re not all about the trades. Alex Belkofer and Rick Kahn joined us to talk about how GCs are viewing innovation, how their companies are often jointly working together to push the industry forward, and of course we pelt them with comments and questions about working with trade partners because, well, we just can’t help ourselves. Listen in as we heap praise on Rick for being an inspiration for us all and enjoy as we all get passionate about making the lives of the people we support better. Construction DorkCast episode 22… Chaos ensues… In this episode we sit down with good friends Alice Leung of Brick and Mortar Ventures and Jake Olsen of DADO and have a full on, no holds barred talk about what happened to the ConTech boom we all expected, Venture vs Vulture Capital, and the whole tech startup world. The Dorks even tried hard to do our part as investment matchmaker and made a few shameless requests for money from Alice. Sadly I don’t think she took them seriously so we won’t be buying Dork Island anytime soon. We hope you enjoy!

We all know that this BIM thing is super easy, but we thought we’d invite in Curtis Watson, Sal D’Ambrosia, and Scott Nobis to talk about sometimes when maybe it didn’t go quite as planned. As you can guess, they had just a few stories and then we settled into talking about some of the reasons construction might be harder than it looks and ways we might make it better.
