2004 - Waldoboro, Maine.
In June of 2004, 39-year-old Mark Dugas was stabbed with a kitchen knife in his home by his wife, Amy Dugas in front of her son. Though she claimed the incident happened in self-defense, she was arrested and charged with his murder.
Mark’s family and friends were determined to bring the truth to light: that Mark's death was the result of escalating domestic violence.
As the midcoast Maine community rallied together to bring awareness to a side of domestic violence not often seen, a contentious trial unfolded in the courthouse.
In this episode, you’ll hear from a member of the jury who said they didn’t get the full story during the trial; and what they didn’t know had a huge impact on the verdict.
This is part 2 of 2 of Mark Dugas’ story.
