The Contest Fantasy Footy Show

Trust your gut… or drop your guts!

This week, we dive into the chaos of AFL Fantasy decision-making and ask the big question: when should you back your instincts, and when are they leading you straight into disaster? We chat about the importance of trusting your gut, why overthinking can ruin a perfectly good trade, and how sometimes your first call is your best call.

But it’s not all stress and spreadsheets, we also remind ourselves (and you) that this game is meant to be fun. With injuries, carnage, and curveballs everywhere, it’s easy to take things too seriously… so we bring it back to enjoying the ride.

Plus, we break down our trade plans heading into Gather Round; who we’re targeting, who we’re moving on, and where we might be taking a few calculated (or reckless) risks.

If you’re feeling confident, confused, or completely cooked… this one’s for you.

This week we explore the concept of 'value' and what it means in 2026. Is value all about cash generation? Does inherent value come from just having the best guy? This week, coaches re looking to upgrade all the way to the top with names like Nick Daicos and Dayne Zorko topping the popular trade target list. So, the question becomes: being so overpriced, are they truly good options, or do we need to look into some other names for more value? Plus, we answer listener questions!
