  • 14. Embracing the Woo in Your Business

Let's get a little woo woo, shall we? Worst case: you roll your eyes. Best case: your business transforms.

In today's episode, I'm sharing how embracing intuition, manifestation, astrology, human design, and other spiritual + energetic practices has completely changed the way I approach business. Whether you're already deep into the woo or you're a total skeptic, this conversation is really about one thing: building more self-trust.

I break down the mindset shifts, rituals, and tools that have helped me make better decisions, feel more aligned, and create a business that feels just as good as the results it's producing. Because strategy matters, but so does the person behind the strategy.

    I yap about:

    • Why intuition can be one of your greatest business assets
    • The difference between manifestation and simply wishing for things to happen
    • How astrology, human design, and other "woo" tools can build confidence and clarity
    • Why strengthening your mindset is rooted in science, not just spirituality
    • The role gratitude plays in rewiring your brain for abundance
    • Simple moon rituals, tarot practices, and visualization exercises I actually use
    • How to balance strategy with energetic alignment in your business
    • Why following your curiosity can be more powerful than forcing productivity
    • The importance of taking action after setting intentions
    • How to find the spiritual practices that resonate with you and leave the rest behind

  • 13. "Don't Make It Political" (Too Late.)

Oop, I'm bringing up politics again. Because everything is political (duh), even your business. Your values don't clock out when you clock into your business. Neither should your voice.
In this episode, we're unpacking why your values shouldn't disappear the moment you become a business owner. I share why I've chosen to be vocal about the causes I care about, how that's impacted my business, and why standing for something can be one of the most powerful ways to build a community that truly aligns with you.
I also share real ways to take action, support causes you care about, and use your platform with intention without feeling like you have to be an expert on everything.

    I yap about:

    • Why "staying out of politics" isn't actually possible as a business owner
    • How sharing your values attracts more aligned clients and opportunities
    • The difference between performative activism and taking meaningful action
    • Practical ways to support causes you care about through your business
    • Why your spending habits, partnerships, and business decisions all communicate your values
    • How to speak up authentically, even if you're afraid of losing followers or customers
    • The mindset shift from scarcity to building a business that's fully aligned with who you are

  • 12. I Owned a Home for 10 Years. I'd Never Do It Again.

Buying a home is supposed to be the ultimate sign that you've "made it."

Build equity. Stop paying someone else's mortgage. Invest in your future.

But after a decade of managing my family home, I realized homeownership came with far more than monthly mortgage payments. From six figures in repairs to HOA rules, rising property taxes, and the constant weight of responsibility, I started questioning whether owning a home was actually giving me the life I wanted.

In this episode, I share why I made the decision to sell my home, why I don't plan on owning again, and why I believe we need to stop treating homeownership as the only path to financial success or a meaningful life.

    I yap about:

    • The hidden costs of homeownership no one talks about
    • Why "building equity" isn't always the winning argument people think it is
    • The financial and emotional realities of maintaining a home
    • How my definition of wealth shifted from ownership to freedom
    • Why renting can be the right choice—and why you don't have to follow society's timeline

  • 11. Chinamaxxing, Mahjong, and Asian Cultural Appropriation

Why is something you got bullied for as a kid suddenly "trendy" the moment someone else (especially a white person) discovers/Columbus's it?

That question has been sitting with me, and this episode is where I work through it out loud. I'm talking about growing up Asian, watching pieces of my own culture get repackaged and go viral with zero credit to where they came from, and why the line between appreciation and appropriation is actually not that hard to understand despite what white people want to tell you.

We get into wellness trends, food, fashion, beauty, social media and why it's worth actually listening to the communities these traditions belong to instead of talking past them.

    What I'm covering:

    •  Why cultural appropriation isn't just about intent but also impact
    •  The childhood experiences that shaped how I see today's viral trends
    •  Where the line between appreciation and appropriation actually exists
    •  How social media, influencers, and brands profit from cultures they don't belong to
    •  What respectful allyship looks like when you're engaging with another culture

I know there's going to be a lot of angry white people in my comments and DMs for this one. Before you come spew your hate at me, take a moment to evaluate why you're so angry and so set on defending problematic behavior that would take only a few small fixes to change? Hmm? Chew on that.

  • 10. Everything I Wish I Knew About Money Sooner

For years, I avoided looking at my bank account, ignored my budget, and told myself I'd "figure out money stuff later." Sound familiar?

Today I'm pulling back the curtain on everything I wish someone had told me sooner about money.... the habits, the mindset shifts, and the small daily decisions that quietly separate the people who retire comfortably from the people stuck living paycheck to paycheck.

This isn't about complicated spreadsheets or restrictive budgets. It's about building a healthier relationship with money. One that starts with awareness and ends with confidence.

    In this episode, we cover:

    • The mindset shifts that completely changed my relationship with money
    • How to start budgeting, saving, and investing without feeling overwhelmed
    • Why building an emergency fund should be one of your first financial goals
    • Common investing mistakes to avoid (especially when emotions take over)
    • Simple habits that can help you build wealth consistently over time

    • In the study, 186 people watched real life news stories that were expected to stimulate emotional reactions and were then asked to make risky financial decisions with real money at stake. After watching the news stories, men became significantly less willing to take financial risks even though the decisions were completely unrelated to the news. However, the decisions of women appeared completely unaffected by having watched the same news. (University of Essex study)

  • 9. Why Mindset Work Matters More Than Systems

I recently did an episode of Cubicle to CEO breaking down how I've worked fewer hours and made more money over the last eight years.

While I was prepping for it, my friend asked me: "But like, what do you actually do?" And that's when I realized... it's not really the systems. It's the mindset. It's the energetic alignment, the inner work, the woo stuff I usually keep to myself.

So this week I'm getting into all of it. The eldest immigrant daughter conditioning I'm still unlearning. The ego I had to release to start asking for referrals. The clients I've fired because working with them didn't feel right in my body. And the framework that's helped me reverse-engineer my way out of a scarcity mindset and into a wealthy one, even on the weeks I really, really don't feel like it.

This one's a little vulnerable. I'm not coming at you with "I've got it all figured out" energy — I'm still working through a lot of this in real time. But if even one piece of it resonates with you, take it and run.

In this episode, we talk about:
    • Why mindset work often matters more than systems and strategy
    • How to stop making decisions from fear, desperation, and lack
    • Why asking for help, referrals, and opportunities is a skill worth developing
    • The difference between attracting aligned clients and chasing the wrong opportunities
    • How existing from a place of abundance changes the way you approach money, growth, and success
    • A simple framework for shifting your thoughts, emotions, actions, and results
    • Why your future success depends on the identity you're choosing to embody today
    • Practical ways to build confidence, challenge limiting beliefs, and strengthen your mindset

  • 8. Setting Boundaries with Your Clients

Every boundary you don't set becomes an expectation you'll eventually resent.

In this episode, we're talking about one of the most important skills every business owner needs to develop: setting and enforcing boundaries.

From late payments and scope creep to clients who expect immediate responses, it's easy for small exceptions to turn into frustrating patterns. And more often than not, the resentment we feel toward clients starts long before the moment we finally draw the line.

I'm sharing the lessons I've learned, practical scripts you can use in your own business, and the boundaries that can help protect your time, energy, expertise, and sanity as you grow.

In this episode, we talk about:
    • The client behaviors that lead to watch out for
    • How to stop scope creep, late payments, and unrealistic demands before they become bigger problems
    • Boundary-setting scripts you can steal for your own business
    • How to protect your time, energy, and expertise without damaging relationships
    • The mindset shift that makes enforcing boundaries feel a whole lot easier

  • 7. Hiring Scared Me for Years

You can only scale a business for so long before "I'll just do it myself" becomes the problem.

For years, I convinced myself that hiring wasn't necessary. That I could figure it out myself. That asking for help would be more work than it was worth. But after nearly eight years of running my business solo, I finally reached a point where I realized something had to change: I had become the bottleneck.

In this episode, I'm sharing the fears, mindset blocks, and scarcity thinking that kept me from hiring for so long, what finally pushed me to take the leap, and what I've learned on the other side of building support into my business.

In this episode, we talk about:
    • Why it took me almost eight years to make my first hire
    • The scarcity mindset that kept me stuck and overwhelmed
    • What finally convinced me that hiring was the right move
    • Lessons I learned from the hiring and interview process
    • How to avoid micromanaging and how to build trust with your team
    • My advice for making your first hire with confidence
    • A simple exercise to help you identify what you can start delegating today

  • 6. No One Builds Anything Alone

This episode is a love letter to community, collaboration, and the people who help shape us along the way. Because despite what hustle culture tries to sell us, no one builds anything alone.

In this episode, I’m talking about why I don’t believe in the idea of being “self-made,” how community has completely transformed my business and personal life, and the coaches, mentors, friends, and collaborators who have supported me through every stage of growth.

We’re diving into the power of asking for help, why I resisted hiring for so long, how group coaching changed my perspective on learning, and the difference between transactional networking versus genuine reciprocity and support.

This episode is for the founders, creatives, eldest daughters, recovering perfectionists, and anyone who’s been trying to carry it all alone. Because the truth is: community changes everything.
