In this episode we discuss domestic violence and the affects that it has on not just the victim but the family and love ones of the victim of abuse. This is a very serious matter that does not get enough attention and it needs to be stopped.
Domestic violence is not a private matter but a social crisis that requires our attention. No one deserves to be abused physically, emotionally or sexually. Domestic violence is never the fault of the abused. The responsibility and blame of domestic violence belongs to the abuser.
"On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been victims of [some form of] physical violence by an intimate partner within their lifetime. Intimate partner violence accounts for 15% of all violent crime."
Statistics were taken from the website of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV)
