Each of us has a battle inside between the old self and the new self. It is a great picture of a werewolf - two natures fighting for supremacy in one body. However, God sends His Son, a Savior, to make all things new. He washes away our sin and gives us power over our sinful nature.

We are all like vampires. We fear the light and want the darkness to hide us. Jesus Christ is the Light...He leads the way for us to follow. We are no longer lovers of the darkness because through Jesus' life and death, He casts away sin and fear so we can walk in the light.

What we have to offer, Jesus' free gift of salvation, is for EVERYONE! The message doesn't change no matter which of our locations you visit....Jesus Christ is the way to heaven!

Some people have been believers from birth. Others have become believers later in life. The reality is that all of us have failed to measure up to God's standards, but we can rejoice because Jesus is our Savior from sin and has gifted us with eternal life. This leads us to want to share our Savior and invite people to hear God's Word.

The reality for a Christian is that the world and the devil want us to get-a-way from God and our faith and choose sin over our Savior. The temptation is to isolate ourselves and try to deal with struggles on our own. But the church provides a place (a family) where relationships are established.

Why did we ever open our doors? What do we have to offer that people need? The answer is simple....Jesus Christ! Everyone needs Jesus. He is what's on our menu, and that menu will never change. How we present the message of Jesus, however, can change in order to reach out to everyone who has yet to hear this message.

The death of Samson is a heroic death, but it is not heroic for the reasons the world would like to think. It's heroic because in his last hour, God finds Samson repentant and ready to continue the work God had planned before time for him to do. And so in his death we see God's grace at its height.

Tonight we will begin asking the hard questions Samson raises. How far are you willing to push God? What do your actions and lifestyle demonstrate about your faith? We see that Samson's deepest sin is not taking God and His commands seriously. Samson likes games. He thinks God will do nothing - that he can take his games as far as possible. Likewise, we think we can get away with anything.

God has tremendously blessed His people, but we squander those gifts. Yet God through providence works out Samson's flaws to His glory and our mercy. We see that what God does in our lives is not because of who we are but rather in spite of who we are. Despite our sinfulness, God still uses us to accomplish His goals.

The "heroes" God uses to carry out His plans are ordinary people. They're flawed just like anyone else. The heroic part is that God is able to use sinners like you and me for His purposes. The will of the Spirit of the Lord is achieved in spite of us, not because of us!
