What is a hero? Are they born, or are they made? This first night of our new sermon topic lays the foundation to help us understand the life of Samson. In understanding the role of the Christian hero, we must first see God's hand preparing the world for His hero. The Lord sets the scene, chooses the methods, and chooses the actors for His deliverance.

A disciple of Christ will suffer for their faith. Furthermore, we must carry each other's burdens. However great our suffering, God will never leave us. In fact, in our weakness, God's power is made perfect!

As disciples of Christ, we must follow Him with child-like faith. We follow His invitation to come and see what He has to offer. As we mature in our discipleship, we realize we must be willing to suffer and even die because we follow Christ.

How do you relate to Jesus? Do you view Jesus as a dead philosopher, master, benefactor, Savior, or friend? To have your life fundamentally changed, you must relate to Jesus Christ primarily as your friend!

Jesus models the proper behavior of a disciple. He served others rather than being served Himself. As a disciple of Christ, we should strive to meet the needs of others first, then take every opportunity to feed them the Word of God.

As a disciple of Christ, we should be "fishing" for the lost souls. God doesn't call those equipped to fill the position, rather He equips those He calls. Knowing this comforting fact, we can follow God's calling with 100% obedience.

Who defines what a "Disciple" is? God's definition of "Discipleship" is radically different than the world's definition. When we reflect on how our Savior lived HIs life, we realize that disciples of Christ need to step out of their comfort zones to embrace outcasts and reach the lost.

Prayer life with our God is a most wonderful thing! As Christians, we can freely ask for anything and know that God will hear us. In His infinite wisdom, God answers our prayers as He sees fit.

Prayer is simply communicating with God. As such, God wants us to pray to Him often and honestly. Then we must listen for His answer - Yes, Not Now, or No. No request is too small for God! Prayer DOES make a difference.
