The Cornerstone Corner

There’s no denying that we faced hardships in 2020, and while it may be easy to write off the year as a waste, God was in control the whole time and knew exactly what he was doing. Today, Josh Simpson takes us through John 6 and we look at the account of Jesus’ miraculous feeding of the 5,000. We can trust that Jesus is always in control and never wastes anything. Let’s carry that into 2021!

In this final message in our Christmas series, Pastor Matt takes us to Matthew 2-soon after the birth of Jesus-and we take a look at the Magi. There is a lot we can learn from these key characters! As Christ followers, we need to keep our eyes and ears open to any supernatural hunches the Holy Spirit might prod us towards, and through it all, we must remember to keep worship as our first response.

Merry Christmas from Cornerstone Vineyard Church! In our Christmas Eve message, we continued our series by looking at The Messiah, Jesus, who came to earth, lived among us, and redeemed us all. Tonight, Pastor Matt took us to Luke 2 where we looked at Jesus' title of Messiah, what that means for us, and how we are forever changed by it.

This week, Doug Southworth brought us a great message from the book of Luke. Who would have ever imagined that God would reveal the birth of our savior to simple shepherds? But while the shepherds may seem like commoners in the world's eyes, they were unforgettable in God's . It is God, after all, who ultimately defines our worth. And if we can remember that our worth comes only in Christ and we cultivate faith in Him, we can see big changes in our lives.

In our Christmas Series, we are taking the time to explore each of the key stories that are part of the Christmas narrative. This week, we start with Mary and Joseph: Unforgettable Parents. They leave an incredible legacy of putting their spirituality first and following God's call to care. If we can press into those same characteristics, we can truly see some huge changes in our lives as we grow more like Christ.

It is human nature to go with the flow and not make waves... but as Christians, we are called to take center stage and to pursue Kingdom opportunities! Today, we look at the book of 1 Samuel where David demonstrates what standing out courageously really looks like. If we can press into overcoming the fear of standing out and give serious attempts, we can see great Kingdom work happen in our lives!

It's safe to say many of us have probably missed out on things we would have liked to do in 2020. However, the Bible has a lot to teach us about overcoming our fear of missing while  pressing into trusting  God. Today, Erin Simpson takes us to the story of Cain and Able and how the fear of missing out and unrighteous actions stopped their progress.

This year more than others, we've had to face risky situation after risky situation. As we continue our series, "Fearless", Pastor Matt takes us to Exodus where we see the Israelites facing serious circumstances. If we remember that God is FOR us and keep the hope that dry ground is coming, we can press into standing up- even when things are risky.

In this first message, Pastor Matt takes us to the book of Jonah where we find concrete examples of what happens when we give in to the fear of failure… and what happens when we press through it! Like Jonah, we can sometimes respond with fear when God calls us to do something. However, if we can avoid the instinct to run, we can find that success is on the table!

Today, we look at 1 Timothy where we see that God has called us to be open handed with the resources He gives. We’re called to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. We might think that holding tight to money and stuff will complete us but we’d be wrong… only God can truly complete us.
