It's that time of year already. Well, it should be your favorite time of year with all the green in March. No, not St. Patrick's Day, we are talking about the Dollar Dollar Bill green. The time when Corporate stops talking and starts sharing raises, bonuses, incentives...the little slice we do get. Oh the excitement of talking money! This territory comes with a certain main course that is fully unavoidable... we are talking the dreaded conversation between you and your boss. Are we prepared for it? Well let's get in the kitchen and make this steak to see how prepared we are.

Now that we come to an understanding whether to do or not to do a non-apron wearing relationship, we can start to truly gossip. Let's talk about some people we saw without their aprons, and whether or not it lasted. After all, we are all trying to find love and The Power of Love conquers all... except for the majority of Corporate Policies. We at the Corporate Kitchen are rooting for you to be your best self and find someone who helps you get there, if that's what you want. We just want you to be ready and smart about it because trust me EVERYONE KNOWS.

So we're adults here? I think... It's time to have one of those serious conversations. This one about whether or not we mix our foods, foods being a metaphor and quite literally. A lot of issues in Corporate comes down "to do or not to do" type decisions. We have to do a deep assessment on our options because common sense ain't so common nowadays. So when you're ready, let's put on the apron and discuss whether we should see other peers when our apron clocks out.

That may have been a lot to digest, we may have to get out of the kitchen for some examples. There is a constant power struggle in Corporate, and I want to make sure you have some of that energy for your own gain. Let's talk through some stories to give you a power up because it's tough to make a great lasagna when you aren't in the kitchen often, but it's even harder to navigate making a lasagna when you don't even know what's in your kitchen to work with. I know it's a lot of information and a lot of work to obtain this information.... however it's solely for your benefit. I want you to succeed and that only happens when we have power through knowledge. That knowledge takes time to build across many areas and this is just one of the major ones.

First month done, and it's time to take a step back and look at the entire kitchen here. We worked really hard on meals and overlooked the basic elements that make up our kitchen. Let's spend some time really understanding what makes our kitchen run. Hopefully you'll take away true power from knowing the binder. Keeping this description short and sweet as we look into the bigger picture.

I swear this apron fit me last week, must be slacking with the effort to the goals. But I be hungry... for food and knowledge. We really need to cook up something great for the body and mind, ya know? Both need to work in harmony to be able to cross the finish line. We spent so much time in the Kitchen that we almost forgot gym is on the curriculum. We can definitely have a picnic during this recess, but need to make a snack. What's good for the body? I have some ideas.

Did it taste good? Do we need to revisit some of the ingredients? Are we sure we want these goals or has the world changed so much we are just trying to survive each day? If you need to change your choice of beverage for the table, do it now before you sit down! If we are celebrating, pour me a glass of that too. Renovations are underway, and we are on track for these goals! Before we toast, I have to share with you.....

Week 3, and it's already time to start learning acronyms. Before we whisk your brain too much with new lingo, let's talk about some kitchen upgrades. Countertops, backsplashes, and what else do you want in the Kitchen? After all, we are working toward a Goal here. Put your New Year's Resolution on pause and let's see if you really have all the ingredients that will blend to success. Then blend it.... I hope it tastes good.

Aliens, am I right? Now that we have established what wears the best mentor apron, let's chat about the human ones. How did you find yours? I'll share with you a couple of my advocacy relationships I had. Hopefully you don't make the same mistake I did, and find your best advocator! After all, how do you know whether or not you are on the right path if you don't gain insight from the team? Your Kitchen isn't big enough for everyone, so we really really trust this team.
