  • Paper 72 - Goverment on a Neighboring Planet - Part 3
This Saturday, we continue our exploration of a continental nation on a "not far-distant planet" in our local system of inhabited worlds. Beginning Part 2 of our study, we marveled at this extraordinary and unusual presentation in the Urantia Revelation. We have been eager to explore the many similarities and difference between that world and ours. We read about the home life of the families on this world and about their educational system, in sections 3 and 4. These sections go into wonderful detail about the practical ways that this government on a neighboring planet exalts and fortifies family life and ensures a splendid education for young people. Here are some samples of what we read last week: "These people regard the home as the basic institution of their civilization. It is expected that the most valuable part of a child's education and character training will be secured from his parents and at home, and fathers devote almost as much attention to child culture as do mothers" "There are no classrooms, only one study is pursued at a time, and after the first three years all pupils become assistant teachers, instructing those below them." "Everyone takes one month's vacation each year. The precollege schools are conducted for nine months out of the year of ten, the vacation being spent with parents or friends in travel." We are aware that there were some technical issues last week, and we apologize those who couldn't log on to hear the show or had difficulty logging on. These types of issues seem to be the nature of internet technology and fortunately, in the 8+ years we have done the show, this has only happened a couple of times. We hope you can join us this week as we continue our lively exploration of Urantia Paper 72. Please give us a call to share your thoughts and view on the remarkable presentations in this paper. Thanks!

  • Paper 72 - Goverment on a Neighboring Planet - Part 2
This Saturday, we continue our exploration of a continental nation on a "not far-distant planet" in our local system of inhabited worlds.   Beginning Part 1 of our study found us grateful that permission was granted to make this extraordinary and unusual presentation in the Urantia Revelation. We were eager to explore the many similarities between that world and ours. The civilization on this planet represents a culture that is rich with history and strife; not unlike ours. In telling us "something of the social, moral, and political life" of this advancing continental culture, we found insightful possibilities and plausible next steps for our own advancing human civilization and for life as we know it on our world. Last week we learned a lot about this continental nation, including it's history and evolution, the racial makeup of its citizens, and especially its political organization. We marveled at the three houses that make up the legislative aspect of their democracy: 1. The upper house is elected by industrial, professional, agricultural, and other groups of workers, balloting in accordance with economic function. 2. The lower house is elected by certain organizations of society embracing the social, political, and philosophic groups not included in industry or the professions. 3. The third house—the elder statesmen—embraces the veterans of civic service and includes many distinguished persons nominated by the chief executive... The scope of this body is purely advisory, but it is a mighty regulator of public opinion and exerts a powerful influence upon all branches of the government. It occurred to us that the creation of a "lower house" in our country could prevent the need for corporations to lobby Congress. We hope you can listen in this week as we continue our lively exploration of Urantia Paper 72.

  • Government on a Neighboring Planet I—Continental Nation, Political & Home Life
This Saturday, Paula, Christilyn, André, and Derek begin the exploration of the revelation of a continental nation on a "not far-distant planet" of our local system—a region having a radius of 30-to-50 light-years—of inhabited worlds.  The revelators state that the "similarity of the two spheres undoubtedly explains why permission to make this extraordinary presentation was granted, for it is most unusual for the system rulers to consent to the narration on one planet of the affairs of another." They are not just trying to satisfy our curiosity about extra-terrestrials.  They presume a student of the revelation is far beyond mere UFO or E.T. curiosity. These are fellow human beings with a rich human culture, history, and life; not unlike ours. In telling us "something of the social, moral, and political life" about this advancing culture, the author is trying to give those reading it something of an alternate view of human culture and give us a sense of where ours may be headed, or could be headed, by contrast.  This should be a thrilling discussion of some intriguing and challenging ideas. Some teasers: "The industrial mechanism of this nation enjoys a certain great advantage derived from the unique topography of the continent. The high mountains, on which heavy rains fall eight months in the year, are situated at the very center of the country." "They enjoy a brisk domestic commerce but have little foreign trade owing to the universal hostility of their less progressive neighbors." "There are five different types of metropolitan government, depending on the size of the city, but no city is permitted to have more than one million inhabitants." How different life can be!  Please join us and call in for a lively discussion!

  • Earthly Lessons — Heavenly Hope
What can we learn from the Urantia Book’s teachings about our ascendant career than can illuminate life’s significance and improve our educational efforts here on earth? And how can we introduce our communities to the ascendant career? "One of the most important lessons to be learned during your mortal career is teamwork. The spheres of perfection are manned by those who have mastered this art of working with other beings. Few are the duties in the universe for the lone servant." [28:5.14] We've spent the last few weeks learning about the inhabited worlds.  Mortal ascenders are all human regardless of how alien their worlds and cultures might seem should we be able to meet them and visit. Most humans are born, learn, wrest a living, and die in less than a hundred years - a very short time from a cosmic perspective. It would be surprising to spend any great length of time here and not learn many truths of living leading to wisdom.  It may not be apparent in any moment or low point in life but we gain many experiences;  which we are sure to discover are universal. In our very next life and the lives that follow, we congregate and meet with these fellow survivors from hundreds of other worlds in our local "neighborhood" with whom we will be in "school." "Those things which you might have learned on earth, but which you failed to learn, must be acquired under the tutelage of these faithful and patient teachers. There are no royal roads, short cuts, or easy paths to Paradise. Irrespective of the individual variations of the route, you master the lessons of one sphere before you proceed to another; at least this is true after you once leave the world of your nativity." [48:5.7] We'll have a few guests calling in. By all means, call in!

  • A Study of The Inhabited Worlds, Part III - Paper 49 - The Urantia Book
The Urantia Book says, without equivocation, that there are other worlds in the cosmos and some of them are inhabited! The Urantia Book describes myriad worlds in the Universe of Universes. It's describes life on these worlds in astonishing detail and in unexpected ways that will delight and surprise you. In the first installment of this series, we read, "All the worlds of a local system disclose unmistakable physical kinship; nevertheless, each planet has its own scale of life, no two worlds being exactly alike in plant and animal endowment." In the second installment we discussed this, "You would be more than interested in the planetary conduct of this type of mortal because such a race of beings inhabits a sphere in close proximity to Urantia."  Wow! An inhabited planet in close proximity. We discussed the distinct physical types, the planetary series of mortals, the races of color, what constitutes a human being, and many other amazing things. We covered the worlds of the non-breathers, breathers and sub-breathers. We pondered the different planetary series of mortals on inhabited worlds, including the brain-type series, spirit-reception series, creature-kinship serials, to name a few. This week we will finish this paper with section 6. Terrestrial Escape. It begins with: "All of the differing physical types and planetary series of mortals alike enjoy the ministry of Thought Adjusters, guardian angels, and the various orders of the messenger hosts of the Infinite Spirit. All alike are liberated from the bonds of flesh by the emancipation of natural death, and all alike go thence to the morontia worlds of spiritual evolution and mind progress." This is a great section dealing predominantly with the mortal ascension. This section covers the how, where and why of mortal ascension. If you plan to ascend, or are curious about ascension, please tune in.

  • A Study of The Inhabited Worlds, Part II - Paper 49 - The Urantia Book
Are there other worlds in the cosmos and if so, are they inhabited?  The Urantia Book says, without equivocation, YES! There are myriad worlds in the Universe of Universes. It's describes this life in astonishing detail and in unexpected ways that will delight and surprise you. In the 1930s, a marvelous revelation called the Urantia Papers said this, "Your planet is a member of an enormous cosmos; you belong to a well-nigh infinite family of worlds, but your sphere is just as precisely administered and just as lovingly fostered as if it were the only inhabited world in all existence." (15:14.9) In the first installment of this series, we read, "All the worlds of a local system disclose unmistakable physical kinship; nevertheless, each planet has its own scale of life, no two worlds being exactly alike in plant and animal endowment." We discussed these seven distinct physical types, which have thousands upon thousands of minor variants: Atmospheric types, Elemental types, Gravity types, Temperature types, Electric types, Energizing types and Unnamed types. We covered the worlds of the non-breathers and pondered the fact that the authors of the book disclose that there is a planet of non-breathers in close proximity to us. We couldn't help but wonder how close is close? This week we will delve deeper into this paper with section 4. Evolutionary Will Creatures and Section 5.The Planetary Series of Mortals. And who knows, we may get as far as section 6. 6. Terrestrial Escape. Won't that be cool? The Urantia Revelation was describing a universe of universes a full 60 years before the Hubble actually allowed us to see it! If that doesn't make one curious about what it says, nothing ever will. This book that claims to be a revelation to our world, from a freindly and well order universe is truly remarkable. If you are curious, by all means.... tune in.

  • Globalism, One-world Government and Governance: A Urantia Book Perspective
The Urantia Book unequivocally states, "The political sovereignty of representative mankind government will bring lasting peace on earth, and the spiritual brotherhood of man will forever insure good will among all men. And there is no other way whereby peace on earth and good will among men can be realized." (134:6.13) H. Joseph Menton and Cayce Snyder will be our guests in our upcoming program entitled:  "Globalism, one-world government and governance:  A Urantia Book perspective." Moving into the 21st century, the power of technology to leverage contact between people around the planet  is rapidly growing.  Consequently, there is rising sentiment towards pursuing one world government as peoples previously separated by ethnic, national and geographic boundaries are increasingly drawn together. We examine these sentiments in context of how the UB approaches issues of proper governance and societal roles and responsibilities and compare these notions with current political movements directed towards world government, including the UN and other trans-national organizations. We have invited several surprise guest callers who are uniquely qualified to speak to these issues in light of current world events. We hope you will tune in for an enlightening and politically supercharged, but civil, discussion!

  • A Study Of: The Inhabited Worlds - Paper 49 From The Urantia Book
Are there other worlds in the cosmos and if so, are they inhabited?  The ancients had no concept of other worlds, they didn't really have an accurate concept of Earth. But we who have lived in the age of the Hubble and science, know that every law of probability states that there IS life on other planets.  In the 1930s, a marvelous revelation called the Urantia Papers said this, "The myriads of planetary systems were all made to be eventually inhabited by many different types of intelligent creatures, beings who could know God, receive the divine affection, and love him in return. The universe of universes is the work of God and the dwelling place of his diverse creatures. "God created the heavens and formed the earth; he established the universe and created this world not in vain; he formed it to be inhabited."  (1:0.2) It also said this, "Your planet is a member of an enormous cosmos; you belong to a well-nigh infinite family of worlds, but your sphere is just as precisely administered and just as lovingly fostered as if it were the only inhabited world in all existence." (15:14.9) Wikipedia says this about the Hubble, "Space telescopes were proposed as early as 1923. Hubble was funded in the 1970s, with a proposed launch in 1983, but the project was beset by technical delays, budget problems, and the Challenger disaster (1986). When finally launched in 1990, Hubble's main mirror was found to have been ground incorrectly, compromising the telescope's capabilities. The optics were corrected to their intended quality by a servicing mission in 1993." The Urantia Revelation was describing a universe of universes a full 60 years before we would ever actually begin to see it! If that doesn't make one curious about what it says, nothing ever will. However, if you are curious, please tune in, it's well worth your investment of time.

  • One More Look at The Planetary Mortal Epochs, Insights and Evaluations
Three weeks ago we finished a study of Urantia Paper 52: Planetary Mortal Epochs. We've read and discussed all 7 sections on the planetary epochs but we never got to sum up the paper overall because we had other great shows scheduled. So we thought we'd finish up with it this week. Pre-Planetary Prince Man: Characterized by Primitive men who are mighty hunters and fierce fighters. The law of this age is the physical survival of the fittest; the government of these times is wholly tribal. Post-Planetary Prince Man: An era which witnesses a spiritual dawn, and the different races and their various tribes tend to develop specialized systems of religious and philosophic thought. Post-Adamic Man: An era in which the original impetus of evolutionary life has run its biologic course, when man has reached the apex of animal development Post-Magisterial Son Man: This age opens with the mortal races blended and biologically fit. All nations are literally one and the brotherhood of man flourishes, and the nations are learning to live on earth in peace and tranquility. Post-Bestowal Son Man: Throughout this epoch there is a gradual lessening of governmental supervision. True self-government is beginning to function; fewer and fewer restrictive laws are necessary. Urantia's Post-Bestowal Age: On a confused and disordered planet like Urantia the achievement of brotherhood requires a much longer time and necessitates far greater effort. Post-Teacher Son Man: A great people has evolved and a great age is approaching. New values and relationships are being established. The kingdom of heaven is appearing on earth, and the glory of God is being shed abroad in the world. We hope you will join us once again for another splendid discussion on the epochs of mortal evolution.

  • Jesus Birthday Celebration LIVE from Israel with Diane LaBrecque & Friends
Come celebrate Jesus’ Birthday with us LIVE from Nazareth Village in Galilee.   Did you know that Jesus was born on August the 21st, 7 BC?  Well, according to the Urantia revelation, he was. Here's the account, in Part IV, The LIfe and Teachings of Jesus (122:8.1): All that night Mary was restless so that neither of them slept much. By the break of day the pangs of childbirth were well in evidence, and at noon, August 21, 7 B.C., with the help and kind ministrations of women fellow travelers, Mary was delivered of a male child. Jesus of Nazareth was born into the world, was wrapped in the clothes which Mary had brought along for such a possible contingency, and laid in a near-by manger. Urantia Book readers all over the world will be gathering to celebrate this weekend. It's a very sacred day for readers of The Urantia Book because they know the story of the 7 amazing bestowals of Jesus Christ Michael. The 7th of which was here, on this strife torn and confused planet.  In honor of this event, The United Urantia Family Festival 2016, will share with us LIVE from Israel, their personal experience and celebration of the Master’s Birthday directly from the place he called home. In fact, not only will they share the exceptional moment of being there in the Holy Land during Jesus’ Birthday, but each participant will also share highlights from their pilgrimage throughout the land where Jesus actually walked. It's amazing to be there with this revelation. Each will give us a personal account of this memorable trip and visit to key places where Jesus went and taught during His splendid life and ministry on Urantia. It’s going to be wonderful remembrance of Jesus on The Cosmic Citizen this week for this special Jesus Birthday edition. It will be especially nice for Urantia readers who have no community to gather with. Please join us!
