As a Christian attempting to witness to a Mormon, it is critical that you clearly define your theological terms and ask a lot of questions

Joseph Smith, the founder of the Mormon church, had 33 wives, some of which were girls as young as 14-years-old

Dr. Lynn Wilder’s son Micah, stood in front of dozens of Mormon missionaries and testified to what he had learned: Jesus is enough. After being sent home early from his Mormon mission, Micah begged his parents to read the New Testament with the eyes of a child - and his plea changed their lives forever. Today, Lynn is the co-founder of Ex-Mormon Christians United for Jesus, and she is sharing her story about leaving the Mormon church after her son boldly stepped away from the organization. Lynn explains even though it was difficult to transition out of Mormon culture, it was possible with the help and grace of Jesus Christ. She clarifies how Christians can have better conversations with Mormons about the core tenants of salvation.

TAKEAWAYS

Mormon words like “grace” and “salvation” have completely different meanings than how they are defined by Christians

Leaving the Mormon church is extremely difficult unless you find Jesus

You can’t share the love and good news of the gospel if you don’t open your mouth and speak about it

Corey Miller was born into a multi-generational Mormon family, but one trip to a Christian summer camp at the age of 16 changed his life forever. Challenged by the Gospel and confronted with the truth of scripture, Corey left Mormonism behind and is now the President and CEO of Ratio Christi, a campus apologetics ministry with the intent to reach souls with the truth - including Mormons! Corey explains the importance of the First Amendment, and how that applies to his ministry on college campuses. He also discusses his background in the Mormon church, and how Christians can equip themselves to better reach the Mormon community with the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

TAKEAWAYS

Mormonism teaches that God “became” god, which is reminiscent of some Eastern religions and embraces a kind of polytheism

To reach Mormons for Christ, stick to the essentials: define who God is, what salvation is, and stay true to the core message of the Gospel

The Socratic evangelism approach asks thought-provoking questions and lowers the defenses of people who have erected walls of pride

Understanding a Mormon’s mindset and culture is important in effectively reaching them with the gospel

Devout agnostic Dr. Jobe Martin was giving a lecture to a room full of dental students when two of them challenged him on the concepts of the theory of evolution. After five years of research, Jobe discovered that evolution had no answers for the questions surrounding the existence of man, the creation of the universe, and the perfect and complex design of animals. As the founder of Biblical Discipleship Ministries, Jobe lays out the irrefutable evidence of intelligent design. He also shares the glaring blind spots in evolutionary theory that further affirm the illegitimacy of evolution over Biblical creation.

TAKEAWAYS

Animals are irreducibly complex, which means that they need every part of their body to survive from day one

Some questions that refute the Big Bang: What made the Big Bang happen? Where did information come from?

America’s education system is saturated in Marxist-socialist agenda - a worldview based in evolution

During WWII German Nazis, especially Adolf Hitler, were highly influenced by Darwinism, paving the way for an evil acceptance of racism, eugenics, and euthanasia. Richard Weikart is a professor of history and the author of Darwinian Racism: How Darwinism influenced Hitler, Nazism and White Nationalism. Richard explains how the theory of evolution set forth by Charles Darwin has also influenced many infamous school shooters over the years. This highly respected college professor also breaks down what Darwinism’s core foundational beliefs can lead to, including the complete denigration of human worth. Richard covers the historical background on how Darwin himself embraced racism.

TAKEAWAYS

The Nazis used Darwinism as a central factor of their oppressive ideology

Several high-profile school shooters were closely linked with believing the Darwinism theory

Darwinism contends that, ultimately, mankind is locked in a struggle of existence between races

Darwin proposed that the human races would continually exterminate each other until one reigned supreme

After working for 20 years as an air traffic controller, Carl Kerby observed one missing piece in the life of the average Christian. Believers have to communicate their answers to tough questions in a way that people can understand. Carl is the founder and president of Reasons for Hope, where their mission is to train and equip a new generation to stand boldly on the Word of God. Apologetics, he says, is really about being prepared to give logical and rational answers for why you believe what you believe. Carl’s goal is to get today’s generation to realize that while we may not know everything, God has an answer to all of our questions if we’re willing to do a little digging!

TAKEAWAYS

When we’re asked a question, we should question the question

Carl takes groups on incredible dinosaur digs that reveal the truth about the fossil record and the age of the earth

People are so quick to abandon the unchanging Word of God for a constantly changing evolution theory

The study of apologetics is based on 1 Peter 3:15: Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have

Dr. Stephen Iacoboni has spent the last four decades caring for thousands of sick cancer patients, watching many of them take their last breath. As an oncologist and award winning researcher, Stephen realized that the godless secularism of modern science was causing fear and confusion in the hearts of his dying patients. Faith in God and the promise of eternal afterlife has sustained humanity throughout all of history. “As God’s children, we are purpose-driven from the time we take our first breath until our last.” And yet, the agenda of many scientists to erase God’s existence now permeates even the world of medicine. All science actually points directly to God, as he explains in his new book Telos: The Scientific Basis for a Life of Purpose.

TAKEAWAYS

People think of scientists as earnest truth-seekers examining lab data, but their immense power has led many to believe they are God

A doctor’s duty is to heal, not just the body, but also the spirit

The scientists and the non-religious institutions are in fervent agreement that they have disproved the existence of God

Doctors who care for the sick and dying have every right to give affirmation to the expressed beliefs of those patients who desire it

Rescue 1 Global’s Mission is to counter human trafficking and provide holistic restoration at home and around the world

The U.S. didn’t begin bringing human trafficking to the nation’s attention until 2010
