A crackdown on the unsafe practices, misleading advertising and substandard marketing of Australia's rogue "cosmetic cowboys" is now in full effect.

As of July 1st 2023, new guidelines will change the way cosmetic surgery and procedures can be promoted and performed.

The reforms, issued by the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra), focus on two main areas: how cosmetic surgeries and procedures can be practised, and how they can be advertised.

Ciara [who welcomes the changes] performs non-surgical treatments including anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and fat dissolve injections.
