In this episode of the Crannog-Cast we sit down with Frances Houston, the curator at The Scottish Crannog Centre and Dr Ticca Ogilvie who is the acting consultant conservator for the project we are running this year around understanding better the pottery and ceramic fragments that are present in the collection housed here at The Scottish Crannog Centre. In this episode we speak to Mike Benson the Director at the Scottish Crannog Centre and Hyab Yohannes who is part of our fantastic community through the work and workshops the Crannog has done with UNESCO RILA (Refugee Integration through Language and Arts). He tells us the story behind two quartz stones that he decided to leave with us at the centre. In our second episode, we carry on with stories at the Crannog. Erin and Graham lead the storytelling with two 'creation myths', one very traditional to Scotland, the other from a bit further away, from North America and the Haudenosaunee people. Both however show a strong connection to how indigenous peoples tell stories, make sense of the world and in fact are more similar than you might think.
