Today we talked about lead generation, also called list building. We talked about what it is and why it's important to your business. We learned that lead generation is a process, that when done well can help you build an engaged, interactive audience of raving fans and loyal customers.
There is a difference between placing an opt in form on the sidebar of your site and hoping people sign up, versus creating a strategy and actively promoting your offers and inviting people to become a lead. Being proactive helps you not only build an audience, but in the grand scheme of things you're also building an asset that you own and control. Once you build a relationship with your audience, no one can take that away from you... except you.
