Meet Dr. Sierra, she is a psychologist and music performance coach. As a performer and musician herself, she grew up very shy and had a hard time performing. As she was studying psychology, she started to realize that there are things one can do to overcome that. So she founded Elite Performance Academy, where she uses the psychological principles to work with musicians to work through performance anxiety, be brave, bold, and show up in their music. In this episode we talked about pushing through mental blocks, avoidance patterns, perfectionism, fitness and its effect on performance, as well as techniques on how one can control their anxiety when performing. I went a bit technical on her and asked her a few questions on how one can create an album, what songs to choose in an album, how long does an album need to be. Her response was different, she mentioned that each and everyone of us is different and it is up to us to chose that, but what she does is she brings the awareness to what is really going on that is hindering one's creativity. At the end of the day, creativity is found within each and everyone of us and sometimes we are the ones who are stopping in our own ways.
