The Credible Nerds tackle the much maligned but secretly loved 4th movie in the Indiana Jones film series - Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull! We discuss the off and on again start of the film and why it took so long to develop, as well as how big of a box office hit the movie was in 2008. We discuss the era that this story is set in, the late 1950's, and the effect it had on the story in comparison to the previous three movies. We talk about Indiana Jones and if he has changed as a character and what's different about him 19 years after his last crusade. We discuss the new characters introduced in the film and how old characters made cameos in the story and how Marion makes a comeback in Indy's life. We talk about father/son relationships and how in this movie, Indy is the father figure as opposed to The Last Crusade when he was the son. We finish off ranking the films in the series so far and if they changed from the initial preview episode we recorded.
We are back to talk more about the Man with the Hat! We get a Young Indy flashback and some great character building moments and a new adventure with young Indy! We discuss how much time has passed for Indy since Temple of Doom and how this movie fits into the overall Indiana Jones Saga timeline. We discuss our top favorite moments of the film, as well as our least favorite. We get into a discussion as to whether or not Elsa knew that she was giving Donovan the wrong grail cup to drink out of. We debate whether or not Indy and his dad are immortal now that they have drunk from the Holy Grail? All this and much more! Thanks watching!

Some are in-universe and others are real world moments, but regardless these are the moments that gave us chills, made us smile, and even brought a tear to our eye. We discuss moments from all of Star Wars - from the Original Trilogy, Prequel Trilogy, Sequel Trilogy, Rogue One and Solo, The Clone Wars, and Star Wars: Rebels! Every era is on the holodeck and we get into it.
We review Chapters 45-49 in Book One of The Wheel of Time - The Eye of the World! The heroes barely escape the Ways and Machin Shin, then make their way to Fal Dara. At Far Dara they rest and prepare to enter the dreaded Blight and to find the Green Man and The Eye of the World! We discuss the Ways and Machin Shin and how the taint of saidin has corrupted the Ways. We speculate on what Machin Shin is and where it came from. We talk about Lan Mandragoran and how the Borderlanders revere him and why they keep asking him if the Golden Crane will fly again? We discuss The Blight and how it came to be. Also the Green Man and who he is and how he was created in the Age of Legends by the Aes Sedai and how the Green Men, the Nym, worked side by side with the Ogier. We discuss Padan Fain and how he has been following the group since they left the Two Rivers! This guy just won't give up!
We're back with a review of the Indiana Jones prequel - Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom! Set one year before Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indy is on a new adventure with a sidekick - Short Round, and an unwilling traveling companion - Willie Scott. These three are shot at, chased, left for dead on an airplane, escape said airplane by jumping out with only a life raft for safety, and ride white water rapids until they hit calm waters. And this is only in the first 20 mins of the movie! More adventures follow as they try to get back to civilization. We discuss whether we like Temple of Doom, what we thought when we first saw it in theaters, 39 years ago, and if our opinion changed during our recent rewatch. We then rank and compare the movie to the other four Indiana Jones films.
The Fourth Ta'veren reviews Episode 8: The Eye of the World from Amazon Prime! This episode is the final episode of the season and is loosely based on the ending events of the book series The Wheel of Time - Book One: The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. We discuss how the Rand decides to go to the Blight and find the Eye of the World by himself, but Moraine goes with leaving Lan behind. Lan and Nynaeve develop their relationship further. Padan Fain is in Fal Dara hiding out and ends up stealing the Horn of Valere with the help of some Myrddraal. Loial and Uno are killed?! Rand faces off with Ba'alzamon. The Battle of Tarwin's Gap is fought and Lord Agelmar is killed by Trollocs. Nynaeve, Egwene and some other women defeat the Trolloc Army, but suffer mortal wounds from using too much of saidar. What is going on? After a lot of unnecessary misdirection throughout the series, the show finally "reveals" who is the Dragon Reborn. lol In an alternate reality, taken from the Aes Sedai testing ceremony, Rand and Egwene live together and are happy with a baby living in the Two Rivers. Will Rand choose this story for himself or fight to save his friends? At the end we get a tease of Seanchan arriving at Falme. This is the first podcast video that we have done for The Wheel of Time, the previous episode reviews are audio only podcasts and can be found on our website and on iTunes. From here on out we will be doing video podcasts for all of our reviews!
We discuss the three latest Star Wars movies that were announced at Star Wars Celebration 2023!
James Mangold (Logan, Indy 5) will be in charge of writing and directing a Star Wars film set 25,000 years before The Phantom Menace and will address the origins of the Force (and possibly the Jedi and the Sith?).
Dave Filoni will create a a film based on his live action Disney+ series, The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, The Book of Boba Fett, and perhaps others. The film will close out these stories and will focus on the New Republic.
Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's movie will focus on the sequel trilogy era and will take place 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker. Rey is again played by Daisy Ridley and will be rebuilding the Jedi Order using the sacred texts found in the first Jedi Temple.
In preparation for the release of the fifth Indiana Jones movie - Dial of Destiny, we review the one that started it all - Raiders of the Lost Ark. We wax nostalgic as we discuss our first time viewing the film and what we thought. We also discuss how the film holds up over time over 40 years later. We discuss the characters and themes of the movie and how they have connected with us from when we first saw the film as children and how we can relate today. We also rank the film in comparison to the others after the rewatch and talk about if our rankings have changed since the Preview show. We will watch all 5 Indiana Jones movies and discuss them in release order.
The Credible Nerds discuss their history and experiences with Star Wars collecting! From 1978 - 2023 we discuss what collecting was like as young kids up through teenage years and then into adulthood! We also discuss how our early years of collecting influenced us collecting for our kids as well. We discuss collecting action figures, books, comics, prints, and pretty much anything and everything! We didn't get into Funko POP collecting oddly enough as we have plenty of those too! This is one of our longest episodes ever! We had such a good time talking Star Wars collecting that we lost track of time. Time flies when you're having fun! This is the first episode in a multi-part collecting series that we will do on and off with no set schedule. I apologize for the audio on this one as I just switched from OBS to Ecamm and I'm still getting used to the new software and I missed monitoring the audio output. It's still not bad, just off.
