ServiStar has had the privilege of working along side their management team as 50 of their leaders participate in our highly coveted, research based leadership development program. To celebrate our 25th year of helping credit unions with topics such as leadership development, their CEO and President, Mark Burgess joined the podcast to give his take on leadership development at CU1 in Alaska. 

Mark started his career in IT for both small and large organizations, and his passion is finding elegant technical solutions to drive organizational efficiencies. Before serving as CEO of Credit Union 1, Mark moved to Alaska from New Hampshire in 2018 to serve as CU1’s Chief Technology Officer. He was responsible for day-to-day IT operations, project management, information security, and facilities. In his newest role, Mark brings immense knowledge, innovative thinking, and a commitment to lead with empathy, compassion, and service to others.

Mark finds ways to give back whenever he can and serves on the Alaska SeaLife Center Board, the Alaska State Council on the Arts Commission, and the Alaska Public Broadcast Commission. He and his wife, Hannah, are also avid birders who are always searching high and low for new birds - and trying to see more birds in a year than his dad

Bryanna is an independent contractor and coach working as President and CEO of BrightPeak Consulting and previously worked extensively with ServiStar as a client onboarding our 3-part series on leadership development, Vertex as the Director of Employee and Organizational Development for Heritage Financial Credit Union, headquartered in Middletown, New York. Brad is an up-and-coming CEO out of Flint Michigan who you may remember used to work with Taylor Murray and Producer, Scott Albrecht at BCU. He also went to college with Scott where their paths certainly would have crossed at fraternity circle during their time at Western Michigan University college. But you will hear in this podcast, that young Brad was eager to succeed, continuing his education journey to get his Law degree from the University of Toledo and as the CLO at BCU attended school at Notre Dame and graduated with an MBA. He has been the CEO of Financial Plus Credit Union in Michigan since December 2019 and is a good friend of both Taylor and Scott. I can’t wait to have you listen in as a fly on the wall as two CEOs talk shop!! We cover various topics, from mentors and mistakes to fintech and the race to scale.
