Hi friends! 

Happy new year! we may already be a little bit into January of 2025 - but the new year started very slow, I had episodes I recorded at the end of the year and this episode nearly killed me editing it. I spent over 8 hours fixing export issues on top of the nearly 10 hours editing and 2 hours recording. 

I love what I am doing with the podcast, getting more confident in myself where there are points I catch myself off guard when editing - because some thoughts used to just be in my brain and now they all come out.

December is a hard time of the year for me, like many others. I know I dont need to explain myself, but sometimes I want to. There has been a few breaks that I have taken this year where I wasnt able to verbalise what was going on in my brain and the fact that I needed time.

Hi friends! 

This episode is about the recent trip i took going round the west coast of scotland. Stopping off in Largs, the Isle of Bute, Glencoe, Fort William and going all around the isle of Skye. I started this episode with a little bit of background information on my accident as before i had my crash Skye was top of my list of places to visit and at points of my recovery i didnt know if it would be possible. I drove on roads that scared me shitless and had a friend join me who helped me with my disability and helped me to feel very accepted in who i am as a whole. More on disability shame and feeling like a burden in two weeks time.

Hi friends! 
Being a nurse was something that for a long time felt like my life passion, and part of that was learning about different types of medications, how they worked and the different kind of side effects, because although i was not a prescriber, i did have a duty to give medication to my patients, to know what i was giving them and the side effects that i had to look out for. And although my accident meant that i was only working for two weeks, i did my 2300 hours of training, and for a lot of my recovery could not wait to get back.. but things change.

 It meant that when i started to take medication to help my brain, that i knew what to look out for in myself and that if i was having side effects what to communicate to the doctors etc. I hope you enjoyed me nerding out about some medications and maybe you learned something from it. There will always be times where things come up that i want to use my experience when i WAS a nurse, it was 3 and a half long years of my life and i want to still be able to celebrate that without feeling like it is my responsibility to go back to a system which unfortunately is not for me. Maybe some time in the future, or maybe ill just keep chatting away.

I am coming back with this episode, and my tail between my legs after thinking i was out of my rutt and starting Season 2 of the Podcast and then taking another bit of time off.
My mental health hasnt been the best recently, and i have been trying to put things in place from therapy, give myself more compassion, have time for my loved ones, mentoring a young person, and also then trying to do the podcast ontop of juggling disability.. it has been a bit tough, but i am really hoping Becca is back and i have ideas for new episodes. im not going to make promises when they are coming out, but maybe the end of the year will be more consistent for me..

After taking a few months off, I thought i would call my come back a season 2. I have a bit of a plan for episodes and i am really excited with how this episode came out with my editing and just how it flows! I am also going to be reading some of my poetry, having a look on at least 10 years since writing some of them. As well as some poems from my favourite creators online, and on paper. 
I also want to take a bit of a leap into doing some deep dives on reality TV shows that i enjoy watching - these videos wont be avaliable on audio, however just videos on this youtube channel!!
