Ryley Watson is the creator the Midwest Mythos Podcast. He's a researcher and self-proclaimed Midwest hillbilly who dives into history, local legends and conspiracies. He recently joined Jessica and the C.W. Operations & Survival team on a Dogman and Bigfoot investigation in East Tennessee. Ryley discusses his cryptid encounters, the Michigan Dogman, and his wife made a special appearance to discuss her perplexing encounter with a Dogman on a wooded highway. Ryley also discusses his experience with the melon heads, a well-known local legend in his area, and the possible ties to secret societies and human trafficking.

The rich history of the Carolinas in the Southeastern United States includes many stories of strange creatures that date back centuries ago. Deep in the forest of North Carolina, two rivers converge to form the mouth of the Cape Fear, where Revolutionary War soldiers told tales of seeing beautiful mermaids sitting along a sandbar, playing and splashing in the water, and even combing their hair in the moonlight. Mermaids were seen there several times throughout the war, and some believed they swam there to wash the saltwater from their beautiful hair.

A tavern sat close-by and most of the eyewitnesses were patrons of that tavern. The tavern was destroyed in a flood around the 19th century, around the same time that the mermaid sightings ceased. The disappearance of the mermaids also coincides with the building of the first of a series of dams and locks along the course of the Cape Fear, which certainly blocked off path of the mermaids up from the sea.

On this episode, Jessica explores the scariest cryptids and creatures seen in the tunnels and caves across the world. From encounters in the deep caves and caverns of the Appalachian Mountains to the devil-faced reptilians in the world’s largest cave in Vietnam, nothing is darker than the eerie depths and passages that wind their way beneath our feet. Tales of inner earth beings emerging from caves have been told for centuries, up to present day.

Dr. John Stamey received his doctorate from NC State University in Raleigh. During his three years in that program, he was also a research associate for the Rhine Research Center in Durham, working with renowned researchers such as Dr. Sally Rhine Feather. Dr. John has always had an interest in the paranormal. He runs a number of Comicons as well as Bigfoot & Lizardman festivals. He co-hosts ScaryCast, a weekly podcast on Blog Talk Radio and airs his shows on his YouTube channel, Bigfoot and Company.

Last weekend, cryptid research and investigative team C.W. Operations & Survival executed Operation Smoke in the deep woods of the Great Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee. The area is a hotspot for Dogman and Bigfoot activity, and the team experienced intense cryptid encounters throughout the entire operation, catching some of those encounters on video.

In addition to the C.W. Operators, several cryptid researchers and content creators joined in on the hunt, which turned out to be a life-changing event for some of the guys. Jessica was a part of the team, and she hosts the team here for a debrief and to discuss happened when they went “On the Hunt” for the East Tennessee Dogman and Bigfoot!

The Pine barrens are quite possibly the creepiest places in America. They are pine forests in otherwise “barren” and agriculturally challenging areas and occur throughout the U.S. from Florida to Maine, known as the Atlantic Coast pine barrens, The most well-known pine barrens in North America is the New Jersey Pine Barrens, known to locals as being full of cryptids, such as the Jersey Devil, Dogman and Bigfoot. An equally cryptid-filled area is known as the Central Pine Barrens in Long Island, New York.

Over the past week, Long Island Bigfoot Mike, Brian Minnick of Montauk is Strange joined MT Paranormal and the Cameraman Crew on a Bigfoot and cryptid investigation in the Central Pine Barrens on Long Island, New York, with some incredible cryptid encounters. The Sirian lenticular spacecraft is said to be a large etheric and physical craft that is approximately half of Earth’s diameter. It is a living, partially organic, legion mothership, chiefly built by the Sirians. It can manifest in several different dimensions is holographic. This massive ship has been repaired by multiple civilizations and has helped in its reproductive cycle with another ship in its belly.

This fascinating mothership is said to be in the sky for humanity’s benefit. Flooded over the top the town of Oscarville, Georgia in 1956, Lake Lanier has become one of the most dangerous bodies of water in America, with the remains of buildings just below the surface ensnaring hundreds of boats and swimmers. Each year, more than 10 million people visit Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Georgia, even though it’s considered one of the deadliest lakes in America. There have been close to 1,000 deaths at Lake Lanier since its construction in 1956. 250 families were displaced, roughly 50,000 acres of farmland were destroyed, and 20 cemeteries were either relocated or otherwise engulfed by the lake’s waters. The town of Oscarvile was not demolished before the lake was filled, and its ruins still rest at the bottom of the manmade lake, making it the single most dangerous underwater surface in the United States.

With the high number of deaths and accidents, it has a reputation of being cursed and haunted, from the encounters with the Lady of the Lake and hauntings by drowned swimmers whose bodies were never found. Nearly half of all lakes in the U.S. are manmade and are covering a rich history, from ancient temples and artifacts to pyramids and megalithic rock structures. Could it be that lakes across America have been created to cover the true history of North America? On this episode, Brice Watson of Esoteric Atlanta joins Jessica to discuss the cursed Lake Lanier and the lost civilizations covered up by manmade lakes in America.

Brice Elizabeth Watson grew up in the deep South with a love for folklore, legends, and stories associated with the South. Spending her summers with her mother’s family in the low country of coastal South Carolina, Brice was inundated with ghost stories, Gullah culture, and a deep respect for the mysteries of the world. As a lover of Eastern philosopher and traditional yoga, in her early 30s, Brice packed her bags and started one of many trip to India to study the lineage of Ashtanga Yoga at its source. After many years, Brice became the only female in the state of Georgia to carry an authorization to teach, a title she still holds to this day. After receiving authorization, Brice began teaching sold out courses on Ashtanga and Eastern philosophy until, like many, the lockdown of 2020, shut her business down.

During the lockdown, while stuck at home, Brice returned to her first love of storytelling and opened the YouTube Channel Esoteric Atlanta. What started as a way to explore the eccentric stories of the deep South, turned into a fast-growing channel of deep research and presenting alternative ideas to some of our wildest history. On top of running her YouTube Channel, Brice continues to teach two yoga classes a week in the Atlanta area. She also runs a nonprofit out of India to aid slum kids as well as a dog rescue for the street dogs of India. On top of working with countless children during her time in India, she has successfully brought six Indian streets to America where they were placed with loving families. Brice currently lives in Atlanta with her partner and her dog Ravi, who is also a rescue from the streets of India.
