Hello everyone!  “Best Order General” Brendan walks us through his 4-1 finish at Brewhammer, held in Columbus Ohio.  Brendan gave his Sylvaneth, and Belthanos in particular a go, and the results speak for themselves!  We also go through a pretty busy 2024, with about 15 events (so far) that folks may have an interest in, and we discuss how we plan to participate.  Dan waxes eloquent in Scriptorium about the “Big Three” of the WWII series…Band of Brothers, The Pacific and the in progress Masters of the Air.  Enjoy.

So we’re out the gate in 2024 with some opinionated conversation, as well as some predictions and goals for the year ahead.  Always great to be able to share our thoughts on the hobby we enjoy.  I mentioned a book seller during Scriptorium, and have included the link to a review in the notes.  For clarification, this is an Ebay style book seller site, and as always, pay special attention to seller ratings and shipping costs.   I have been using the same seller since finding the site a while ago, and have been satisfied with his service.  Hope you find this info helpful…feedback please.

Brendan travels to Worlds in Altanta…and Dan stays local at Rockcon.  Two events couldn’t be much different, but we both had a great time.  Brendan does a great job of getting us behind the curtain to see the goings on off table.  We also decided to do a bit of list tech, which we haven’t for a LONG time, because we are so excited about Belthanos.  A couple of interesting lists, which may, or may not be competitive…we don’t care!  Will just be fun to see him on the table and doin’ his stuff!

Sorry for the delay in getting this one out to you…just so much stuff going on and fighting a beasty cold…but here it is!  We really enjoyed reviewing this new book…there a many solid components that bring new options to the game, not the least which is Belthanos the new Sylvaneth hero.  Lovin’ the Ionus Warscroll, the Mawpit is not to be messed with, and the new Fyreslayer figs look great, despite a disappointing Army of Renown (unless you’re fighting monsters).  Plenty to talk about.

The guys hit the road but head in different directions!  Both playing Sylvaneth this go around, Dan heads to Dragonfall in Wisconsin and Brendan travels to Vault Wars in Missouri.  Try as they might, they just couldn’t get any trees planted…but both had a great time and a surprise award for one of them.  We also talk about the Dawnbringers II FAQ, tamping down some Giant and KO foolishness.  Already lots of excitement at The Cube for the new Sylvaneth hero, which we will discuss in detail next episode.

A VERY short lore overview, and then right into the rules.  Four Armies of Renown…two solid, one busted, one sad (IOHO).  Overall, a solid landing with plenty to talk about.  Can you guess which one Brendan had plenty to say about…and rightly so.    We were also able to get around to commenting on the Fall Battlescroll…not many changes, but some significant ones.  Plenty of good listening this go around.
