Welcome to the first episode that has video on certain platforms!! Woot woot. So exciting. And also big warm welcome to my mom. She was such a trooper for being on this episode.
We did intend to record this on Descript for better quality but unfortunately we had so many issues getting her connected that we gave up and so please let this be a forgivable offense :)
See our list of questions we went over before! I would love to hear YOUR answers...
Life & Wisdom
Mother-Child Relationship
Self-Discovery & Growth
The most difficult conversation topics, why they are so difficult, why we fail at them so frequently, why it's important to have them and how we can get better at having them.. based on research!
There was nothing on the list that surprised me but.... there are plenty on the list that I feel exhausted navigating.
I'd love to hear what number you get in our little game AND which of these you struggle with the most/which ones you're working on.
Joey and I chat about the good, the bad and the in-between with regards to mental health and fitness in this episode. We chat about how our relationship with our mental health and physical health has changed over time, how fitness was used to hide insecurities, the current day mental struggles we face with regard to fitness and the triumphs that fitness has provided us.
We have both come a LONG way in our process and fitness has been a low risk space for us to build confidence, tenacity and trust over time. The relationship with fitness, like with anything, does still have its hardships and it's important to talk about this.
Did anyone else have zero real education on plant medicine growing up? Or was that just me?
I am so excited to bring Entheogens into the space and to start a safe conversation surrounding the topic because it was NOT a safe topic for me throughout most of my life.
This is not to say you should or should not utilize them. This is not black and white to me. I believe you could utilize entheogens and benefit greatly AND you could also utilize other healing modalities and also benefit greatly.
What I do want is to have a great understanding about what they are, where they came from, what science is starting to show, how to practice safely and where to find correct information!
Let's chat.
Trigger warning! If you are not yet ready to talk about bullying in depth, please skip this episode <3
This episode was eye opening for me.. there is so much research showing long term mental and physical impact from bullying along with information that I had never considered before.. I also cried a few times sharing personal experiences and owned the fact that in my ignorance as a youth, I also played the role of bully to be accepted.
I would love to hear your thoughts, perspectives and more on this topic! All of them. Because as I mention often.. my voice is not the only one and we need a range of voices to make sense of any one topic.
