This concept of the names of God is important because it has had all sorts of implications from the basic, through the powerful to the absurd and can have various levels of impact either empowering or limiting depending on how you were introduced to them.

This “Names” are actually found in the Bible so they are NOT extra biblical, yet what we want to examine if they are REALLY the NAMES of God and IF He respondS to them.

--The issue is that depending on you been taught, there are people who have adamantly stuck to one of these “Names” for lack of a Better term as their “God of Choice” and can be very adamant in insisting on their “Version” of God even in a discussion.

--So are these really names of God in the literal sense?

Sadly, NO.

--These are ATTRIBUTES of God and ALL of them in that sense are correct, none superior and none lesser than the other.

--These “Names” actually describe the “ENCOUNTERS” or “EXPERINCES” that people had with God in the Bible and must be understood as such and the fact that the people described their encounters in HEBREW does NOT designate a HEBREW label to God and does NOT make your references to an “Attribute” of God in HEBREW MORE POWERFUL than if you said it in a language that you understand.

--This also means that God is NOT limited to those “Attributes” and we can come up with as many as there are encounters with a Multi-faceted God of whom we can never fully exhaust our descriptions of Him even if we invent new vocabulary.

7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you[a] will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

Therefore it is critical that BEFORE we ask, we need confidence from the standpoint of the Word we are abiding in.

-To begin with we are about to make a very BOLD STATEMENT:

Adam & Eve did NOT require Prayer as we KNOW IT!

If that is true then WHY SHOULD WE EVEN PRAY?

It is also given, during every national crisis believers Pray

During meetings and gatherings, we pray.

Since this is such a common activity that is carried out from the mildest form to the most extreme forms should we not be asking ourselves some crucial questions:

1. WHAT IS PRAYER?

2.WHY SHOULD WE PRAY?

3.WHO SHOULD PRAY?

4.HOW SHOULD WE PRAY?

5.WHEN SHOULD WE PRAY?

6.DOES IT EVEN WORK?

As we answer these questions, we are NOT providing a PRAYER FORMULA, all we are doing is placing Prayer into it’s proper context.

We need to remove it from the idea of a RELIGIOUS RITUALISTIC DUTY and place it in it’s proper context where we derive MAXIMUM IMPACT FROM THE POWER THAT COMES FROM IT.

It is important to be aware that the term “Marketplace” is NOT primarily referring to or limited to a “Trading center” but actually refers to much wider scope known as th e”World” which encompasses:

Politics, Economy, Culture and Spirituality.

This is the context that Jesus was referring to in what has generally been dubbed:

The Great Commission.
