The Daily Breadcast

Entropy increases over time in any system. That is the essential of the second law of thermodynamics. Entropy is a funny word. It means disorder, lack of order or predictability, the gradual decline into disorder. So, increasing entropy means progressively increasing disorder. Seems contradictory, doesn’t it! An oxymoron. But this “law” is observed everywhere. That’s why a hot cup of coffee cools and a cold glass of tea warms.

Why do you call me Lord, Lord and do not do the things that I say? Luke 6:46

So… According to the record in Luke, what does our Lord say to do?

Beginning at the end of chapter 2. He says that he himself needs to be about the Father’s business, so if we’re following Him, then we too need to be about the Father’s business.

Man shall not live by bread alone, but by...

How many times have you been in a situation where problems disrupted relationships, even destroyed them? Events of life where people hurt, insulted, or wronged with resulting friction in relationships? Others may have hurt me, or I may have been the weapon that injured them, it does not matter; damaged relationships result. God provides some specific principals to help us begin reconciliation. I realize that a short article will not provide all the information needed to solve them, God wrote an entire book on the subject.

“(for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)— then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,” ‭‭II Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭9‬

How much does it seem like you can relate to Lot?

We’re in a world (or society) that is corrupt to its core. We see division, lust, greed, pride, lovers of self, etc… all over the place. We have devices that promote self-indulgence into whatever we want, and how much do you suppose it’s used for the Glory of God?! We have our “wisest” among us that say to speak “your truth” and that “perspective is reality” and all manner of other idioms or colloquialisms that keep you tethered to self and make it hard to look any further than yourself. Satan’s greatest tactic, convince you that you can rely solely on yourself and not even consider that he is working on you.

We hear this term used often, and it is true. We love others even when they hurt us and care for them when they are in pain. We hurt when they hurt and are joyful when they are. We sit by bedsides, have sleepless nights, spend untold amounts of time and money to help and aid. Compassion for those we love runs deep, sometimes overwhelming reason.

Love is that quality of compassionate care which never tires of taking the initiative to sacrificially give its best for the godly wellbeing of others regardless of who they are or how they respond. Consequently, giving love to others is not limited to or inhibited by anything. In this manner, love is unconditional. Scriptures clearly teach that God loves every person, planning and working towards everyone’s salvation (John 3:16). Therefore, if we are emulating God, we give our love to everyone in the same manner as He, freely (1 John 4:7-21).

Can a soldier of Christ be wounded?

What can happen to untreated wounds?

Turning again towards the enemy.

What stage in your recovery process are you in?

Jesus is the Great Physician!

How can I help others who are wounded?

 The Big Bang

I believe in The Big Bang. One day there will be a Big Bang and everything we know will be annihilated, destroyed to atoms, returned to the nothing from which God made it. I may be present when this extraordinary event occurs, or I may not. But it will happen. God has promised.

Peter uses this fact to stimulate believers into a specific line of thought. “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn!” (2 Peter 3:10-12).

The Proverb writer records, “Blessed is the one who fears the LORD always, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into calamity,” Proverbs 28:14. Why is the one who fears the Lord blessed and calamity the property of the one with a hard heart? In life it doesn’t seem to be universally true that those who faithfully follow God are always blessed nor does it seem to happen that hard hearted people are always in trouble. Sometimes, it appears to be just the opposite. Job excruciates over this seeming disparity. What is the Proverb writer telling us?

The understanding of this proverb is based on knowing that Proverbs are not universal truths. They are generalizations of life, observations, not statements of absolute truth. It is also necessary to understand what God means for us to be blessed or to endure calamity.
