સ્વાવલંબી હોવાનો સહુથી મોટો ગેરફાયદો એ છે કે બીજાનાં કામો પણ આપણે જ કરવા પડે છે. સ્વાવલંબી હોવાના લાભ કરતાં ગેરલાભ વધારે છે. એલાર્મ વાગે એ પહેલાં જાગી જવાતું હોય છે. દરેક કામમાં ચીવટ રાખવાને કારણે બધાં જ આપણી ઉપર પોતાનાં કામ થોપી દે છે. આળસુ માણસની ઈર્ષ્યા આવે છે. સ્વાવલંબી લોકો ઉચ્ચ કક્ષાના સાધકો છે. બીજાના લગ્નમાં હાજરી આપવા એટલા તૈયાર થઈને અને એટલા રોમાંચ સાથે જાય જાણે પોતાના લગ્નમાં જતાં હોય! સ્વાવલંબી માણસ અગમચેતી ધરાવે છે. ગાડીમાં પેટ્રોલ હોવા છતાં ટેન્ક ફૂલ રાખવાની એને ટેવ હોય છે. પોતાનું ઘર વ્યવસ્થિત રીતે ગોઠવાયેલું હોવા છતાં એ ગોઠવી શકે છે.

The right to repair refers to proposed government legislation that would allow consumers the ability to repair and modify their own consumer products (e.g. electronic, automotive devices or farm vehicles such as tractors), where otherwise the manufacturer of such products requires the consumer to use only their offered services by restricting access to tools and components, or software barriers put in place to hinder independent repair or modification.
