Two drivers were injured Thursday afternoon in a chain-reaction collision on state Route 9G and Broadway in Tivoli, Red Hook police said Friday. At about 3:45 pm. on April 3, a 2011 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 21-year-old Groveland, Massachusetts, man was northbound on Route 9G at the Broadway intersection. Red Hook Village Mayor Karen Smythe has appointed Amy Smith, the Library Director for the Dover Plains Library and a grant writer for the Red Hook Central School District, to fill the trustee seat recently vacated by Steven Appenzeller. After four years of discussion and revision, the public comment process for the long-awaited 6 Mulberry Street development project reached its conclusion on Tuesday at the Rhinebeck Village Planning Board meeting. Red Hook’s wastewater treatment plant has been discharging pollutants into the environment at levels that exceed allowable limits for years, according to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) data. These violations of the plant’s operating permit began in the summer of 2022 and worsened significantly at the beginning of this year.
