This past Friday, we received a call from a listener, Shirley talking about her cries to the Western Cape government for a house are falling on deaf ears. She also spoke about how
they are ignoring all the proof of corruption she sent to them. The producers were approached by the City of Cape Town to have a right of reply. My producers then agreed with them that they can come on air today at 10:10am to respond to Shirley and also talk about how they are dealing with housing issues affecting their communities. Then yesterday (Sunday), they asked for a postponement and sent this response: The City of Cape Town has assisted the resident and her family with their housing related enquiries in the past. The City will investigate the recent allegations/complaints raised by the resident on SAFM last week. We await the written details from SAFM in order to act on the complaint. The City has an open door policy and encourages residents to approach us with their enquiries directly. The City will provide detailed feedback to the resident and SAFM in due course
