Rwandan President Paul Kagame says he wishes the best but is prepared for the worst over the row between his country and neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo. DR Congo accuses Rwanda of backing the Congolese M23 rebels and recently halted all trade and co-operation agreements. Rwanda denies the allegations. President Kagame held talks with his Congolese counterpart, President Félix Tshisekedi yesterday (Wednesday) in the Angolan capital, Luanda. Earlier this week, the price of petrol increased by 2-rand-37-cents per litre, diesel increased by 2-rand-30-cents per litre and the price of illuminating paraffin increased by 1-rand-66-cents per litre. Calls have been mounting for a shutdown in protest of the high cost of fuel, hikes in repo rate and inflation rate. This is as the government confirms that the fuel levy subsidy will not continue beyond August.
