Today we visit the Emfuleni Municipality where Gauteng Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC, Lebogang Maile appointed an administrator. The municipality was put under administration in 2018 following a R1-million irregular expenditure bill. It also owes Eskom R2.7-billion. To find out whether there is any progress under the current administrator and how far they are in settling their bill with both Eskom and Rand Water.

The independent review panel, appointed by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Thandi Modise, has found that prima facie evidence exists to institute removal proceedings against Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane. Chaired by Justice Bess Nkabinde, alongside Advocate Dumisa Ntsebeza and Advocate Johan de Waal, the panel had to investigate whether there is proof of incompetence or misconduct by Mkhwebane.
