This morning we focus on hypertension and according to medical journals, it is a condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high. The causes are attributed to smoking, obesity and diabetes to name a few.

The two-day shutdown protest in Mangaung has been called off following a meeting with the provincial leadership. As part of the meeting’s agreement, the City manager will be suspended following pending investigations against him. More than 13 shops owned by foreign nationals have been looted since the protests started on Monday. A very bleak picture is being painted of Denel staff suffering due to unpaid salaries. It is alleged that two have already committed suicide while others have lost their possessions including homes.
