September 27, 2019SASBO seeks leave to appeal court judgment prohibiting banking strikeThe Labour Court in Johannesburg has interdicted the planned protest by banking sector workers which was meant to take place on Friday. Judge Hilary Rabkin says the unions failed to comply with section 77 of the labour relations act which gives workers the right to a protect action. She says that Cosatu and South African Society of Banking Officials (Sasbo) are prohibited from enticing workers to participate in the strike as it is deemed unlawful.
