While addressing Parliament during a response to Botswana’s country Budget Speech, President of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC), Advocate Duma Gideon Boko called on government to be more transparent. He said the budget speech lacked in providing practical direction as to how the country should progress in creating jobs, growing the economy and socially uplifting Batswana citizens. While SA is itself dealing with ailing state of State Owned Enterprises, Advocate Duma Gideon Boko says about Botswana’s State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) that the country’s failure in economic transformation in recent years indicated by its large number of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE), the majority of which while paying relatively good salaries, deliver no value for money. What according to him, is necessary to uplift the lives of the Botswana people?
