Diversity in ownership within the car rental and fleet management sectors is needed, this according to the Founder and CEO of Afrirent Holdings, Senzo Tsabedze. Senzo says the racially-skewed ownership patterns in the South African economy have remained a bugbear despite several legislative interventions introduced over the years to foster diversity. He says the non-regulated sectors such as the car rental and fleet management market is a perfect example of legacy problems constraining the growth of black businesses.

Deputy President David Mabuza says he doesn't really take Minister of Finance Tito Mboweni seriously over comments on the privatization of state entities. Mabuza was responding to a question from DA MP Natasha Mazzone, who asked if he supported Mboweni's stance on privatization. The emergence of social media has changed the way in which political communication takes place in South Africa. Politicians and political parties are now using social media platforms, like Facebook and Twitter, to communicate with and engage voters. This has also made elected officials and candidates for public office more accountable and accessible to voters. Some politicians even use such platforms to promote ideologies of a particular political party and at times we see politicians from the same party bickering out on social media with the opposing views on such ideologies
