The listeriosis death toll has risen to 61 since the outbreak was announced in early December last year. Gauteng still has the most cases of listeriosis, with 442 out of the 727 confirmed cases. The Western Cape was second with 92 confirmed cases.

‘Rules regulating the removal and impeachment of the president’

Focus: Last month, the Concourt ordered Parliament to formulate rules regulating the removal and impeachment of the president in terms of Section 89 of the Constitution and gave the National Assembly 120 days from the date of the order to do so. To give us an update on the matter, we are joined by Moloto Mothapo and he is going to take us through Parliamentary processes in terms of what happens next.

January being recognized as Education Awareness Month, we discuss “how to use your education to give back”. According to Dr Ndiviwe Mphothulo, because he benefitted from non-payment of fees, it’s important for him to share the knowledge he acquired through his studies. He says “I am a beneficiary of non-payment of fees! After matriculating at Morris Isaacson (SOWETO), i registered at MEDUNSA in 1995. My studies were paid by NSFAS, PUTCO and a Japanese NGO. I have worked in rural areas for 15 years and the community has benefited from my education”.
