The scriptures tell us to be grateful countless times. And practicing gratitude actually can rewire your brain. Remember, “It is not happy people who are thankful. It is thankful people who are happy.”

We received several historic announcements this October. The church block was changed, women received four challenges from the prophet, and twelve new temples were announced.

For some, there may seem to be no escape from addiction to pornography. But the atonement of Jesus Christ has healing power.

When we grow frustrated at the things we do not yet understand, let’s remember that we are still learning. As we continue to seek knowledge through study and also by faith, it will be given, line upon line, precept upon precept.

Sometimes, we confuse stress or disorganization as being busy. Let’s remember, instead, to make use of the time we are given. If our time feels too short, perhaps we need to reevaluate what we are choosing to fill it with.

You may have heard that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently released the first volume in a new history series called Saints: The Story of the Church of Jesus Christ in the Latter Days.

Because of the great atonement of Jesus Christ, we are never truly alone. Let us remember his sacrifice, and turn to him.

Let’s have more compassion. More charity. More love. Especially for those close to us. Let's assume the good, and doubt the bad.

We sometimes have a tendency to consider commandments as restrictions, but that is not the case. Commandments are a way for us to know what Heavenly Father expects of us. They have been given to guide us back home.

It can try our faith when promised blessings seem to go unfulfilled. But we must remember that everything is done in the Lord’s way, and in the Lord’s timing.
