Raising The Dead Dead (John 11:17–29). Often we try to guilt Christ for not fixing our problems when we wanted them fixed: “If only you had been here.” Christ asserts, not that he can resurrect, but that HE is the Resurrection and Life. He is humanity’s only hope for Life.

Performing Believed Signs (John 10:31–42). Opponents don’t want to destroy Christ for his good works, but his claim to be God and over us. While they attack Christ as a mere man, he mocks them as mere gods (Ps 82:6). I AM the one sent and set apart by the Father.

Plainly Proclaimed Promise (John 10:19–30). Why do we think Jesus is raving mad? He tells you plainly I am the Messiah; will you listen? The Father is greater than all problems and problem makers, will you stay in his grip? How are you doing at being his sheep?

Shepherding Overflowing Life (John 10:1–18). The Law enforces ask if Jesus goes through the gate. Jesus: “I am the gate.” Do you go through Christ to care for his sheep or use some earthly means? Your Good Shepherd lays down his life so you may have abundant life. Follow His voice.

No Sight Without Light (John 9:18–41). The tragic blindman’s own parents don’t protect but abandon him they are so afraid to acknowledge Jesus. This world will not believe the work and preaching of Christ. You are steeped in sin, how dare you proclaim Christ!

Blindness Occasioning Glorification (John 9:1–17). Who sinned? We all did. Why the blindness? Sop God may be glorified even through the brokenness of this sin-racked world. Jesus doesn’t keep the Sabbath, but fulfills it. “I washed and now I see.” How are we washed in the word so we can now see? (Eph 5:26)

Honoring Knowing God (John 8:47–59). Slandering Jesus, liars say they know God but disobey His Word and seek their own glory. Jesus honors the Father and seeks his glory. When a life is lived for God the Father honors and glorifies that life.

Deceiving Enslaving Parentage (John 8:33–47). Sinners claim freedom they don’t possess. Jesus says their unbelief, rejection, hatred and murderous plans show their parentage is the Deceiver. Those who belong to God are set free by hearing the Word.
