The God you serve overflows with love toward you. Today we look at four characteristics of God's love.

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. - Psalm 103:8

The more you know about God, the more your faith grows. God's love is intimately connected with who He is. The love of God is beyond comprehension. You will never plumb the depths of His love for you. The more you understand God's love for you, the more your love for Him grows.

The Christian life is a joy-filled life. Jesus walked in joy and invites you and me to live in the fulness of His joy.

"I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them." – John 17:13

In the last few hours before His trial and crucifixion, Jesus prayed for His disciples and everyone who would follow Him. As followers of Christ, we can claim that prayer today.

In that prayer, Jesus prayed that God would protect those who followed Him and that they would receive the full measure of His joy.

Jesus was a joyful man. He was not the pious, sorrowful person, as depicted in so many films. Crowds and individuals were attracted to Jesus because of His joyful countenance. I believe Jesus was the most joy-filled person who ever walked the earth.

Today's Promise: John 17:13

When our kids went off to college, we made sure they had everything they needed. We paid their tuition, secured their housing, and even checked their car before they left. We wanted to make sure they had everything they needed for a successful college experience.

In the same way, through Christ, God has given you everything you need for life and godly living. His supernatural power has provided everything you will ever need to live the Christian life.

As a Christian, Jesus wants to fill you with the Holy Spirit. He gives the Holy Spirit without limit or measure to everyone who puts their faith in Christ.

Today, Jesus promises you the full measure of the Holy Spirit. He doesn't want you to be filled with just a little of the Spirit, but to live with the Holy Spirit overflowing in every area of your life. He desires you to live with the power of the Holy Spirit spilling out to the world around you.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. - Genesis 1:27

There is a difference between you and the rest of the animal kingdom. You are made in the image of God.

You are created. The great creator of the universe created you. You are not an accident; you were created with a purpose and plan in mind. An artist creates a beautiful painting for a purpose. It might be a portrait or a still life. It could be a social comment, or an attempt to understand the world around him, but he creates his art with a purpose in mind. God created you for a purpose.

God created you in His image.
