We're on a mission to help one million people RISE by 2030 - join the movement at www.myrise.co.uk
I was in Sainsbury’s the other day.
I usually use the Smart Shopping app when in there.
Partly as is minimises contact with others but, mainly, just because it’s quicker.
But I was only grabbing a couple of bits, so used the self checkout.
And, as often happens, the machine didn’t like what I was adding to the ‘bagging area’.
And after a couple of attempts at taking it off and putting it back on………
It flashed up the message “Please wait, someone is coming to help you”.
Doesn’t always happen, like.
But usually someone appears relatively quickly, scans the thing on the lanyard round their neck, punches in a code and you’re sorted.
The help is summoned automatically and (nearly always) duely arrives.
Unfortunately, most of life isn’t like this.
No one is coming to help us.
At least not without our request.
“Here’s to hoping 2021 will be better” will probably mean it won’t be.
We need to make it happen.
Make our goals and desires happen.
There are people who can help us do that.
We can help, for example.
But that help can’t come to us.
If we sit at home waiting for it to come to us, nothing will change.
We’ve received financial aid in the last year from the council.
But we had to ask for it.
It didn’t come automatically.
And, if that was all we’d had, we’d have gone under.
We had to make 90% of it work by our own efforts.
But if I don’t engage in that programme and ask for help when I need it, it’s a massive waste of money.
But it’s not ‘on it’s way’.
We need to ask for it (maybe by clicking this link —> www.myrise.co.uk/briefing-meeting).
And, ultimately, we need to make it happen with our own efforts.
