  • Are You Afraid of Success?

I recently launched a new Facebook group called Born to Create. When I asked the group to share a problem or struggle they are currently dealing with, one of the members said, “The number one fight is definitely fear. Fear of failure, fear of success, fear of not finishing, fear of too many things!”

The fear of success seems totally counterintuitive. If success is something we all want, why we would fear it? It turns out that success, just like failure, comes with its own set of fears that can hold us back. In this episode, you’ll learn how to deal with four common fears related to success.

  • 4 Questions to Help You Stop Drifting and Start Focusing

There are many reasons we start to “drift” in our creative lives: being too busy, feeling overwhelmed, not having clarity, or just being tired. Whatever the reasons, the end result of drifting is the same: we lose focus and start heading toward the danger zone of confusion and frustration.

In this episode, you’ll learn how to stop drifting by asking four great questions. These questions will spur your thinking about your overall direction in life, as well as a more specific direction for your creative work.

  • 10 Movies That Will Inspire Your New Year

The beginning of another year is a great time to think about a fresh start. Many of us will set goals to improve our lives or achieve greater success. There is nothing quite like a great movie to inspire us to achieve something more.

In this episode, you’ll learn how ten movies I’ve selected will inspire change, growth, hope, and renewal in your life. I also share some controversial thoughts on my favorite movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, as well as a list of honorable mentions that didn’t quite make my Top Ten.

  • The 5 Cups of Creativity

Over the past few years, I’ve been on a search to understand more about the barriers that keep us from being more creative. The more I studied some of the world’s most creative people, the more I began to see that there was a clear process for developing greater creativity.

In this episode, you’ll learn about this process, which I called the “5 cups of creativity.” I’ll share where it came from, how Walt Disney is connected, and why I chose the cups metaphor.

Creativity is embedded into every part of our lives—relationships, career, faith and spirituality, the arts, education, health and wellness, and so many others. There is no aspect of our lives that creativity cannot enhance.
