Recently someone showed me a video from a channel (free_indeed_836 on Instagram) that cleverly misuses typology and spiritual symbols to argue that, because Christians are a kingdom of priests — and the priests of the Old Testament worked on the Sabbath — we now in the new covenant are therefore exempt from keeping the Sabbath as it was commanded. Many today are under the false impression that the New Covenant of grace revealed in Christ sets us free from “the bondage of the law.” But there is great error in thinking this way, and in fact it is Satanic at its heart. The moral law, the eternal moral principles and character of God, is unchanging. Grace does not do away with this law but rather empowers us to obey it with delight, because it’s good.
