Those who reject the Trinity argue that Jesus’ subordination to the Father during His earthly ministry proves an ontological difference. In other words, they argue that this proves only God the Father is God. Even in camps that argue the Trinity, the belief that Christ’s earthly subordination reflects an eternal subordinate position is one that ultimately changes the nature of the Son. In this episode we will unpack all the major verses in this debate and see what scripture really has to say.

Some people mistakenly believe that Jesus' incarnation and arrival in human history means that He was somehow created. In other words, they believe that Jesus' sonship began with the incarnation, not existed eternally before time began because Jesus is the second person of the Trinity. In today's episode we're going to break down eternal sonship vs. incarnational sonship and see what the bible really has to say about which view is correct.

Many today believe that Jesus prophesied a future revival of the Jews when He famously said in Matthew 23:39: “For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’” Some even believe that unless the Jews experience this revival Christ cannot return. But are these beliefs accurately representing the words of Christ? Or have they taken scripture completely out of context? Today we will find the answer using scripture to interpret scripture.

By far the most prominent title that Jesus uses to refer to Himself is "the Son of Man." On face value this seems like a reference to His humble humanity, yet studying this term in the context of scripture as a whole reveals a profound truth of Jesus' complex identity as humble human servant, propitiation for sins and divine conquering king.

Jesus was accused of blasphemy and making Himself equal to God several times, and an important part of this narrative is how He related the title "Son of God" to Himself. Today those who deny the teaching of the Trinity argue that this title means Jesus' ontology (or nature of being) is different than God in some way because of this title, yet we will see that in reality it is exactly the opposite: the title "Son of God" proves Jesus' divinity as God and as the second person of the Trinity.
