In this episode of the daily bulleting I look at the latest from the frontlines in Ukraine.  I then turn to comments made by Putin recently at a meeting of CIS security officials regarding the sovereignty (or lack thereof) of Ukraine.  I also consider the devastating effects on population size and birth rates that the collapse of the socialist system had on places like Latvia.  

In the final part of the programme I look at the chances of the peace deal that was almost signed back in March actually working.
