This episode is about what happens when the path you're on isn't working—and you finally let it go.
"O'Birdie" started from a familiar structure, drawing on traditional folk songs. After a full day of trying to make it work, nothing felt right.
So I threw it away.
In that moment—without a plan, without a direction—something new appeared. A simple moment, looking out the window, shifted everything. The chorus came quickly, and from there, the rest of the song followed.
In this episode, I break down: • Why forcing a solution can block better ones • What happens when you reset completely • How breakthroughs often come after abandonment • Why starting over isn't failure—it's part of the process
The song is just the example. The real topic is how letting go of the wrong approach creates space for the right one.
Because sometimes progress doesn't come from pushing forward— it comes from starting over.
This conversation explores creative expression, emotional processing, human connection, and why people use art, music, poetry, and storytelling to communicate experiences that are difficult to express directly.
My guest is Dr. Diane Kaufman — a psychiatrist, poet, artist, and suicide survivor whose work focuses on how creative expression can help people process emotion, reconnect with meaning, and communicate internal experiences that are often difficult to put into words.
In this episode we discuss:
A recurring theme throughout the discussion is that many emotional experiences resist direct explanation, and creative expression can become a bridge between internal experience and shared human understanding.

Retirement is often framed as a financial target. The real question is: What does "enough" actually mean—and how do you define it?
My guest is Dalene Higgins, founder of Elevate Finances, who approaches retirement planning through values, not just numbers.
In this conversation, we explore: • How people define "enough" (and where it goes wrong) • Why financial plans often miss what actually matters • How values shape decisions about work, time, and lifestyle • The trade-offs behind early retirement vs continued work • How to align money with the life you actually want
This isn't about chasing a number. It's about understanding what the number is supposed to solve.
Today, I'm joined by Daniela and Katrin, the inspiring twin hosts of the D&K Spiritual Miracles podcast. Hailing from Germany and now living in Florida, Daniela and Katrin share stories of divine intervention, believing that angels are sent by God to help us in moments of need. During my appearance on their show, I shared my experience of what I felt was a miraculous intervention while mountain climbing—a story that continues to remind me of the powerful spiritual forces around us.
In this episode, we're taking a deep dive into a more personal journey, as we help Katrin find her unique purpose. Although she and Daniela share an amazing podcast, Katrin feels there's something more meant for her—a purpose yet to be discovered. Together, we explore the importance of purpose, faith, and the role of divine guidance in uncovering the life you're meant to live.

"Follow your dream" sounds simple. In practice, most people don't.
In this episode, I sit down with Bill Robertson—writer, filmmaker, and creator—to explore what actually happens when someone commits to a creative path.
We break down: • How people figure out what they want to pursue • Why fear—not lack of ability—stops most people • How opportunities get created (not found) • What it looks like to stay with something long enough to make it real
Bill's career spans writing for National Lampoon, PBS, film, and books—but the real story is how those paths get built over time.
This isn't about motivation. It's about understanding the process behind doing the thing you want to do.
Because the hardest part isn't having a dream— it's deciding to act on it.
