For the most part, we are protected from death on a daily basis.There are people that work in certain careers that deal with it on a consistent basis, but for the average Joe…it really doesn’t come up that often.

Because of that, there is a mystique that surrounds death for most people.It is the reason we rubber neck at collisions…or watch daredevil stunts.

It isn’t something we want to witness, but there is a dark part inside us all that is curious.

And while we are all shielded from the constant death that is all around us, every once in awhile, one or two sneak through…and sometimes…they are broadcast out for the world to watch.

It was a rough week here in Ottawa, Ontario Canada.A total of 6 tornadoes over the course of 45 minutes last Friday shut down the city for several days.Which meant, I was unable to finish up an episode for a Monday release.

The blues was born out of “call and response” style songs during slavery…

The blues and ragtime came together to form jazz…

And of course, we all know the famous quote by Muddy Waters – “The Blues had a baby and they called it rock and roll.”

It is a bit more convoluted than you might think, and it involves the Muppets and Sesame Street!
