Let's jump back into our investigation of Adam DeRito's time at the Air Force Academy. At this point he has been through quite a bit, dealing with a sexual assault and multiple other attempts by a very committed stalker. He has what seems like very few advocates at the Academy, and O Ya he's trying to make a cross commission to the Marines. Let's see how Adam navigates his Junior year and how some unlikely advocates shine light on the issues happening at our military Academies. We will also introduce you all to a West Point Professor and Lawyer for over 40 years, Tim Baaken...the author of a ground moving book called "The Cost of Loyalty". The discussion and story of Adam's sexual assault and how his higher leadership handled it made us all wonder...Was this an isolated event or more par for the course at the United Sates Air Force Academy? So we asked multiple current cadets and a former cadet about their knowledge of this topic, about the sexual assault programs at the Academy called PEER advocacy program and TEAL Ropes, as well as their experiences at USAFA. **Trigger Warning** Please Be Advised We just want to warn everyone that there will be multiple accounts of sexual assault discussed...we will not get into graphic details about the assaults themselves but we will hear first hand experiences, as well as discuss the emotional and mental aftermath of those assaults. ~ Podcast graphics by Navy Veteran *Brandon Tomason*, Owner and head designer of Veterans Apparel IG: @veterans.apparel Website: Veteransapparel.org , ~Music by Army Veteran, musician, artist, activist *YETI TEARS* IG: @yetitears Spotify: Yeti Tears Twitch: yetitears ~HonorHillTactical IG & Facebook: @honorhilltactical Links: https://linktr.ee/HHTmedia , ~Adam DeRito IG: @adam.derito Facebook & Twitter: Adam DeRito ~ Erin Scanlon IG: @heyerinscanlon , @heyerinpodcast , Facebook: Erin Scanlon ~Dogs4Vets trains and certifies Veterans and service dogs as a team. This Episode was difficult to record and even more difficult to edit in a way that served justice to the truth that was told. This is the story of the sexual assault and persistent stalking Adam DeRito endured during Spring of 2009, his Junior year at the Air Force Academy.
